The Not Happy Thread

There is this controversial quote by Nietzsche from Zarathustra: Every one being allowed to learn to read, ruineth in the long run not only writing but also thinking.

It's a very undemocratic thing to say but it applies to the dastardly social media so aptly.

 

I am closer to imagining Lysander and Hermia than Hamlet and his counterparts.

 

It is definitely better than that scorching heat!

 

The humidity is better than scorching heat? Please.

 

Heat isn't nearly as bad without the humidity. Though we don't get heat around here like you do I assume in your part of the world. But I can get out and do strenuous things on a day up in the mid to high 90's (around 36 celsius or so) and feel great, whereas if there's also humidity, forget about it!! It becomes a sweltering steam bath and every breath feels like getting superheated wet cotton stuffed down your throat. Breathing becomes difficult, you can't exert yourself without risking heat stroke and heart attack.

 

Any day of the year, man! Any day!

I like it dry as a bone. A shimmering oven, but still not too hot. Not like @Cave Troll's desert, but a milder version is my preference.

 

Methinks there may be some sarcasm at work here...

 

If that's true then it will be the second time I have mistaken @keysersoze's ironic statements as serious. I can only invoke Poe's Law and beg his apology.

 

I haven't blocked many people ever, but apparently I've been blocked or unfriended by everyone with a dissenting opinion, because I only ever hear infuriating crap from friends of friends in comment sections now, and I'm totally fine losing those people as Facebook friends.

 

Just bantering, man! Just bantering. leave the apology aside and let's continue. I like humid weather that verges on the cold. The earth smells of freshness and the mind imagines sex.

 

I was going to like your comment, keyser, until that last line. Now you put the mental image in my head of someone humping the ground, and I just cant like that.

Humid cold weather can be nice; winter shouldn't be too dry. But summer is not a time for air-laden moisture.

 

Ummm... or moisture-laden air either. I think that's what you meant. Unless you were going for that whole "Would you like some coffee in your sugar?" thing.

Yes, that too. But I always thought it was ironic that places like Florida have swimming pools. I'm like, your whole state is a swimming pool. That southern air is basically drinkable. Ever wondered why General Lee invaded the North in June? I'm pretty sure he was trying to make Canada before his army drowned. Didn't have enough boats.

 

That's a bit much. Eastern Washington has my favoritest summer climate.

 

So we are talking about different types of summers? Summer is altogether avoidable in this part of the globe. Except four months around the year end it is all year round summer down here. Someone enjoying summer is mostly an imaginative idea for me.

 

Where are you? Here summer is relatively short and to be savored.

 

Posted a picture on a nature group on Facebook of a frog i found on my deck. 2nd comment was "OMG DONT HURT IT!!"
