Deborah Watling died on the 21st. She played the assistant to the second Dr. Who, back in the 60's. something most people don't consider about that show is Dr. Who was the first hero character who wasn't based on physical prowess, but on being the smartest one in the room. Being the sidekick character Deborah Watling was never allowed to eclipse the Dr., but she was also first female active sidekick, as opposed to the Lois Lane types.

Patti Deutsch, a comic who was a regular on the last season of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, appeared often on the 1970s Match Game and went on to a successful voice-over career, has died. She was 73. Her family said she died Wednesday at her Los Angeles home after a long battle with cancer.
