The lights are too big. That is what bothers me about that Ultima. That and the Jetsons-esque cockpit.
And the fact it looks (to me) a bit like it's been sculpted out of playdough. Showy, noisy yellow car!
I'm a function over form type of person. Just the realization that this car produces 1300hp and was crafted for the sole purpose of open road racing... I don't see how the driving experience can be perfected in any way. Of course this is just MY slice of perfection. If you're more into a show car, or a car to get you laid then by all means there are probably better options out there.
Yeah I can understand that. It is quite a cool car, just not a cool looking car. Case in point: Ugly ugly ugly ugly ugly ugly Downforce MACHINE. Top of the Top Gear Power Laps board.
i can't believe no one's thrown this one up yet (or maybe it was in an older thread) it's my dream car that i would drive in real life... if only i had one... *drools*
Nope its not a McLaren. Tis actually a Gumpert Apollo. Now that you've mentioned it I've never seen an orange McLaren...
Essentially my car, a 1990 white Ford Bronco. Though mine has a higher lift than the one in this picture and has a custom winch and front bumper (the front bumper juts out a good foot or so ). I also have two batteries, though it's not a diesel. It's just so I have a backup when operating the winch. It's no sports car, but it's my ideal vehicle.
Well played, and if I had to pick a production car that would be it. However, when it comes down to it I don't think any car company can design a car to satisfy my craving for automotive enjoyment. It simply wouldn't be practical to produce.
While I will concede that the veyron was in fact impractical to produce, I still think that the driving experience can be improved for individual customers. Let me put it this way: Once you have an opinion about cars, with some experience to back it up, I don't think ANY car manufacturer can make a car that will fit you perfectly. It's up to you to take the closest fit that is mass produced and tweak it until it fits your needs. Car companies make cars with mass appeal, not individual appeal. It all depends on what you want the car to do, Autocross? Drag race? Road race? Top speed? 0-60? No major company makes a car for anything near those areas. Therefore, you have to make your own.
Yeah it's crap though, because we don't really have many American cars in Australia. Would love to own a '69 RS Camaro one day. I currently drive one of these though (very different from my favourite cars)! Although mine's in blue, and not as sexy.
currently.... i travel to work in a '90 red (pinkish because of fading) bonneville with over 322,000 miles on it, a ceiling that has been peeled back and glued together more than a few times and currently falling in dust on our heads while we drive, a floorboard that is worn through so far that you can see all the car underneath, we gotta hold down the gas to get it to start half the time, no air conditioner (in a city that is summer 10 months out of the year)... anyone wanna trade with me? also, i don't have a key for it. it's so worn-out, it no longer needs the key to start. but we do have a cute "jet fuel" sticker over the gas tank thingy. anyone wanna donate to the "help 67Kangaroos get a car with doors that consistently open so that she doesn't have to climb in through the windows that don't consistently close" fund? (/pity-party) yeah, cars from the mid to late 60s have the best bodies... *swoons over the cars*
NICE!!! My grandpa has a truck exactly like that one, and I flippin love it. He used to have a green and white one like that, too, but then he gave it to my sister and...well...that was the first car accident I was ever in.
