    The Top 10

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Bluemouth, Dec 11, 2007.

Dare I create a thread that probably won't survive? Yes. :)

Feel free to post your Top 10 list of movies, songs or books.

    5. Forrest Gump
    6. The Hills Have Eyes
    7. American Psycho
    8. 8MM
    9. The Birdcage
    10. Hard Candy

    Pretty grim list.

    Music (ever-changing)

    1. 'For Real' - Okkervil River
    2. 'This is Where We Are' - Ravens & Chimes

    * I also want to fit Radiohead's 'Creep' and 'Fake Plastic Trees' in there.

Yes, I cheated. Now post up your lists if you can!

I'm the same as Heather. Much preferred Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, Red Dragon was too off track from the Hannibal story for me. Plus, it was very weird.

Aye. Red Dragon was actually wrote first and he then decided afterwards that he would write more about Hanibal. However they made The Silence of the Lambs into a movie first. Has anyone seen the new film, Hanibal Rising. I didn't like the book so much, was my least favourite of the series.

Hannibal Rising was a rush-job for money. It was pathetic. I haven't seen the movie, though.

To me, Silence of the Lambs is one of the most overrated films of all-time.

While I like both the book and movie versions of Hannibal, Lecter is used far too much - he loses his scariness and thus what makes him so enjoyable, to some extent.

But Red Dragon has the character of Dolarhyde, and that guy is really interesting in a disturbing way. Also, Lecter's scenes are excellent in both the book and film.

Totally agree, Bluemouth. Hannibal Rising was so disappointing, I was expecting it to be much better.

Don't agree about Silence, though, I love that movie. Seen it far too many times, but Anthony Hopkins' performance never fails to impress me.

He is a master of the craft. The fava beans quote is classic and the baton murder is classy.

I just like Lecter to be honest with you, in the book and played by Anthony Hopkins, he is excellent and everytime I watch the film and he says "hello clarise" I get shivers. Excellent film and books I think.

And I have not seen the film Hanibal Rising but the book wasn't too good. Although, I read that first, before seeing any of the films or the other books, so I would like to go back and see what I think now.
