Thats easy. My first instinct is always to attack. So that alien had better have some type of body armour, because I'd be punching, gouging, biting, kicking, grappling, and doing everything in my power to break it. It might still kill me, but it would know it was in a fight. What would you do if you knew the exact moment you and everyone you see would die?
I would simply just continue my life as normal as possible and just make sure that people I care about know that i care about them. It would depend on how I found out. If they suddenly blurted it out to everyone after not telling anyone for quite a while, I wouldn't believe them. If I found out through obsessive fan research. I would very, very politely broach the subject privately and see how they responded, going from there. If they registered under their name, I'd take them at face value and see if they had anything interesting to say about their field, without acting like an obsessive fan at a convention about it.
