I think the term is called 'vague booking'. It goes on to include people who complain about others:

"I wish some people would just admit they're wrong."

Complaining about their lives while accusing other people of having it easy:

"Things are just harder for me than you, okay, give me a break!"

And my favorite, starting a sentence like it's personal between two people:

"You know I like you, right?"

Good point. Are social media now emulating the "click-bait" format of websites that will do anything to increase click-through for advertising revenue"

I get that I'm too old to be in much of anybody's target demographic, but the current web design fad of very light gray text on a white background is making it nearly impossible for me to read many sites, including their ads.

I'd never heard that term but checked on Google for it. Love that term!

    Speaking of social media....

Pretty much every books - new books - let's talk about books site that I used to follow (yes, past tense) turned into a social justice site and so now I don't follow them anymore. I just want to know about new Sci-Fi and Fantasy, okay? I'm happy to check all of it out, but I don't need to be moralized at and told that if I'm not reading this one book that has a trans, mixed race, celiac, neurodivergent, trotsky, GMO-shunning, free-range character (deep intake of breath) then I'm part of the problem. :bigmeh: Seriously. You do you and let me do me.

I'm in the target demo and I can't stand that nonsense either  It's just bad design, full stop.

Agreed! I have a 42 inch monitor because these eyes of mine are on their fifth decade of use. I need the screen real estate to do my work. Also (sidenote) one of the reasons I love Scrivener so much. The on-screen appearance of the text has zip to do with the output format of the compiled MS, so I can have a big, easy to read font with a font/background palette that is easy on the eyes. I still get a perfectly professional, Shunn format, Courier 12 point, double space product, no matter what I do to the screen. :)

Seems simple enough to me: if you want people to be able to read what you've written, it's black text a on white background, preferably in some Sans Serif font.

I don't understand why everyone hates comic sands, and at this point i'm too afraid to ask.

    Well, life is real.

    GAAAAAAAK!

Comic books. And (sorry if I'm stepping on anyone's genre here) but that includes manga and (almost all) "graphic novels."

Logan was showing on the airplane the other day, and he picked up a comic "book" and said "this is ice cream for bed-wetters."

Charles Xavier said fuck in that movie. It was both scandalizing and deeply satisfying at the same time.

Charles Xavier said "fuck" so many times in that movie I felt like they were proving they'd gotten an R rating.

    Then I fell asleep.

I've been attacked by three-pit mix or pure breeds in my life as a child mostly but one of them when I was 18 walking home from work. Punch the f****r in the face. Generally, I don't like them. I had one growing up that was a nice dog but they require constant training. Every dog that's attacked me was either a stray or like they one, when I was an adult, got out of a drug dealers yard.

Have you seen the Catalan film of the same name? Great film. Super strange. Some boy/boy kissing. Not a lot, though. For me, watching a film in Catalan is like watching a Spanish film while high. It sounds like I'm supposed to understand it, and if I concentrate I do understand it, but if I waver for a bit, yeah... I'm lost again. o_O
