Yeah, Inland Empire sounds pretty badass in a mythical way. We are the Inland Empire, For the Emperor. As for Cali, it might just be me because i'm not sure if I have heard anyone else use it. But i'll pay more attention, I know when I do use it, it seems acceptable here in Inland Empire of Southern California. I.E.S.C. , I feel a Parody Story coming on.... just need to formulate it.
Yeah, the whole "Southland" thing, I've never understood...But hey, man, we make movies here, so what do we expect? SigAlert is a thing, though, however odd it may sound. They're named for Sig Sigmon, There are a couple of versions of how they came to be called that, but this is the version I always heard from one of our local traffic reporters.
I have a friend who worked in the PR division of a major organization for a while. He's moved on to bigger and better (?) things, but his facebook feed is still just a constant conveyor belt of inanely thoughtful and carefully neutral condolences on whatever the latest tragedy in the news is. "My thoughts go out to those injured in [LOCATION]." "Such a tragedy that there's no further news yet on the fate of [VICTIMS]." "The events in [LOCATION] are terrible for all those affected, remember your loved ones every day." It's like the I Love Lucy candy factory scene, but with Wonder Bread and Velveeta cheese sandwiches.
Yeah, I knew what I got myself into when I joined my dance group, but dancing with girls who are around 13-16 is the worst! Like - yeah, sorry, I'm almost thirty, my body can't do that! And I've had this song stuck in my head since last practice: Kill me. Please.
Yeah can't say I envy your predicament. I passed on free country line dancing lessons, at a bar. No amount of alcohol will ever make country good, nor do I want to look like a redneck idiot. (Also this song is bloody annoying and dumb).
I was amazed when I found out that line dancing was a country thing. When I first encountered it, it was more of a hip-hop/electronica deal (early 90s California). Did not expect that those two circles would overlap at all. ETA: My old favorite dance song. We weren't all in a line aping each other though.
I think my local Craigslist is just one big fucking troll. Though if I bothered to hire a hit on myself from there, I know that they will never bother to follow through. Not that anyone on there would follow through with anything anyway.
At least I don't dance line dance! That would've been worse. Still I skipped my practice I ended up too tired after work and tired and dancing doesn't go along very well. Or what ever excuse I tell myself
I'm going for a weekend to visit some friends in Korea, and it's driving me crazy. I should be excited, but I just keep thinking of things that I want to accomplish on Friday and Saturday and getting cranky because I'm busy then. I really should have incarnated as a turtle or a clam or something this time around.
If you get a chance to go see Kim Jong Un you should take it .... spray him in the face with some VX and claim you thought it was a TV stunt
Yeah, but I used the last of my V-series last week on a cockroach. Got some anthrax and a spritzer full of ebola around here somewhere, prolly under a printout of a government watchlist
Forum members who post work, ask for critique and stress how much it would be appreciated, but then can't be arsed to either check for replies, or worse still, read the replies and not bother acknowledging them. If the member in question hasn't been around to reply, then fair enough, but when you see them posting regularly elsewhere on the forum, and you know they'll have had alerts to tell them they've had replies, you're pretty much securing your last critique from me.
I try to hit "like" for every crit I get at a minimum. Haven't always, but even if I don't have time to respond (or don't want to try and type a coherent response on my phone), at least the like button serves as a small thanks for their taking the time.
They may not be receiving alerts for all their threads. Since the last time the Forum was down, I'm not receiving alerts for all of my threads and keep stumbling onto replies I missed from over a week ago. Or, they might be like me and batch their replies all in one session. I haven't had an alert on my critique request thread since Wednesday morning, now that you mention it, so I well may be missing responses to mine!
Haha, you'd think so, but, no. No they don't. That's a reverse double standard (in the classic sense) that ain't going away any time soon. I work with a lot of women and made a decision to call all of them "home-girl" when I want to revert to a semi-affectionate nickname. It's worked out well so far. The kids get a kick out of it.
I used to work with a guy who called everybody "Home Fry." At another place the boss called everybody "Holmes" as in Sherlock. Which is kinda how I ended up calling @Homer Potvin "Homes" . His personality does not seem like someone named Homer.
Let's see, I "liked" your previous post, screenshotted it, posted the screenshot of the fact that I'd liked it, then unliked it to cover my tracks. Which, incidentally, were turkey tracks at the time. So don't feel bad for being confused
