Just wondering what people here like doing other than writing. Hobbies, activities, events, etc. You can say something boring like watching tv or being with friends or you can say something more unique and interesting. Recently I did paintball with a few friends, and wow that was fun. Wish it was cheaper so I could do it more often.
I can't think of much. Going out for a good few pints with the lads I do enjoy, travelling I do enjoy, but ... everything relates back to writing and reading. They are my life.
I like to travel. But I haven't done much of it this year because travelling costs money. I also like volunteer work. I volunteer at libraries and an agricultural farm.
Singing and playing guitar. Reading and writing are a close second, but I think I'd rather sing than do anything else.
I can't really think of much at the moment. Its sort of my thing. Well telling a story with interesting characters is what I like. Writing just happens to be the easiest way to do this.......obviously.
I have a great number of interests. Every one of them has the potential to become infused into my writing. I've worked several years as a research chemist, and I've worked for decades as a software engineer. I have many indoor-type interests, like cooking, reading, watching TV and movies, art, jazz, electronics, model-building, martial arts, and of course writing. Outdoor interests include hiking and climbing, fishing, swimming and snorkeling, photography, archery, shooting, astronomy, camping, and peoplewatching. I need to live forever. Otherwise, how can I do justice to all my interests?
Hmmm...if we can get funkybassmannick, and I play drums, we could have the first WritersForum jam session.
My favourites, obviously, are reading and writing, but I also love photography, animals (I have a cat and a dog), qigong, yoga, film, music (esp. singing), seaside, swimming etc.
I can play guitar and bass, I could join in too. Aside from the things I mentioned in my last, I also greatly enjoy music (as I've just indicated), opera, talking philosophy, Italian food and wine, and going on long walks. I know that last sound in some way romantic, but there is nothing romantic about a 14 mile hike, while being eaten alive by mossies and steping in cow dirt.
Food - shopping for it, cooking it, and eating it. Because of my love of food I've recently had to start running, and luckily I've found I rather enjoy that too!
Hmmm... there's nothing I enjoy more, but reading comes a close second. Listening to music, and playing classical guitar come immediately behind that.
