The guy had a box-full of these things but as soon as I saw the pot-belly one I knew I had to have it.
Oh Christ. I like buying things. Recently, a black No Fear jacket, £240 Astro A50 headphones, £159.95 Nike TN Air Max Plus trainers (That's like 160 % markup). I gave away my entire music collection a few months ago to my little brother on PSP (Narrowed down six perfect songs, Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos, Kid Stuff by Sinead O' Brien, Venus by Bananarama, and three Vagrant Story tunes, Undercity, Catacombs and Sanctum), and need a new MP3 player/memory stick for Cornflake Girl and the three VS tunes to soundtrack Bloodborne, earphones for my phone; the 2 other song tracks. My birthday's on Sat 4th December and I'm splashing out a few thousand on a Levi's Store in Regent Street (London). This'll pretty much complete my perfect outfit: No Fear Jacket as mentioned, an original Penguin shirt, Nike Trainers and socks, CK underwear, CK fragrance, maybe a new belt. Stuff for now. Also recommended the Tori Amos album and full VS soundtrack to my brother; he's so adorable lawl.
That is a lot of money on clothing. Nope. I just can't bring myself to do that, even if I do like dressing nice. Just can't. I'd rather save and buy rental properties. I did recently buy a little Tangerine Lobster for twenty bucks and I think it's my favorite purchase of the year. Little guy scrambles around and gobbles up all the invasive snails that one of my tanks has been dealing with for years. It's always an adventure for him as he scales walls, fights with evil tank plants, and devours his own shell whenever he molts. The most exciting fish tank friend I think I've ever bought. Spoiler: Eddard the Claw
Yesterday I bought two pair of Levis that were on sale at Kohls. I thought $22 was a little steep for the second pair, but they fit perfectly, and I did get a decent deal on the second pair at $17.
I went to Amsterdam for a day last week. Among other things I bought this notebook. The pen is from Amazon. It throws tiny specs of light on the pages while you are writing. Spoiler Spoiler
Cornflake Girl is much misinterpreted. For example, 2 Guns, Denzel Washington, "weepy girls with Special K". The song's about the goddess Sunshine. Quite beautiful. I'd like to know Dbesim's view on this.
I've been saying for years that I want to buy a record player. Finally did! My ultra cliché starter collection: Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon Miles Davis - Kind of Blue Allman Brothers - Fillmore East Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours Cream - Disraeli Gears Abbey Road - The Beatles
We've always had a record player. Never a tv, though. A friend has collected vinyl for over sixty years. He's been buying and selling seriously for about twenty years and had made a mint doing it.
One year and twelve days since the original release date, I FINALLY was able to order a PS5 from a retail site today (sorry WIP). I had to join a Discord server to get alerted to the latest restocks as soon as possible in order to achieve this. Snagged one on the forth restock I tried to get in on, less than 24 hours from joining the Discord. What an age we live in.
I just purchased Vonnegut's Slapstick and God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater at the store, which means I'm 2 novels away from owning every single Vonnegut publication. I now have 12 out of 14 novels and his 1,000 page complete collection of short stories
Casino DVD. The Irishman has rekindled my love for Scorsese‘s mafia films. Watching Goodfellas tonight, but none of the streaming services has Casino for some reason.
I have always been an extreme, hardline paper-only type of person when it comes to reading books. Reading from a tablet, phone, or Kindle? Disgusting! Well, after many years of being tempted by out of print books, and finding some disappointment in ordering used copies of said out of print books that I want (am I the only person who keeps all of their books in immaculate condition? Some of these books look like they've gone through a washing machine, for the sake of the gods), I finally took the plunge when I saw the Kindle go on sale for $69.99 CAD (nice). I actually like it. Took to it immediately. I'll still keep collecting my ever-growing pile of dead trees, but in between the physical books, I'm going to be grabbing some more out of print e-books. First on my list, being a big Star Trek guy, is A Stitch in Time, the story of the character of Garak, written by the actor who played him, Andrew Robinson. That one's getting kind of rare. The last time I went looking for a physical copy, they were going for around $80. I just checked again out of curiosity and.. damn. Anyhow, next on the list is the sequel to The Mote in God's Eye - The Gripping Hand. Then we'll see what else is out there in this new e-book universe.

The Scar was disappointing in my opinion, especially following Perdido Street Station. Kind of frantic and disorganized, with random "worst threat yet" cropping up every other chapter. I never read The Iron Council, the third book in the Bas Lag trilogy, but didnt hear good things about it.
My daughter and I got my grandson the extended version of the Lord of the Rings movies. His father, my son, promptly took off with them.
