All that sound just gets conducted right into the ground. so . . . it's just ground sound. OTOH, I could buy Several thousand posts for the price of hearing aids.
A combined slow cooker/pressure cooker/steamer from Sage. My boyfriend found it going on sale for £120 as opposed to nearly £200.
I purchased Mega Man Legends (PS1) on Amazon... I had this game originally, but sold it to get Legends 2 (this was pre-job JW), and I pretty much have regretted it for years, so I finally decided to get a copy. It's supposed to come with CD, Manual and Case. and wasn't a bad price considering it's rarity.
KFC 5 piece tenders combo with a diet coke. You know, no matter how good food tastes going in, it all ends up crappy coming out. Also, two books I said I wouldn't buy and a video game (DBZ Fighterz).
I've had to go back on my similar words so MANY times in my life that it's almost embarrassing! I have since learned to say, "I never said that!" most convincingly. Said with enough sincerity, you can get people to stop believing their lying eyes. Learning to fake sincerity is a most useful tool.
For me, the power to "Forget I said that" is very strong. Book I said I wouldn't get? Psh, when did I say that? I don't remember. Food I said I wouldn't eat? Pft, why would I say such a thing? I don't remember. Can be a double-edged sword...
Imagine my surprise when I bought The Hunger Games as a study in popular writing and found out that I quite enjoyed it.
I have been told I need to watch The Hunger Games but Shadow waves I thought it was a Teen Movie. Might have to give it a chance someday
(I hate admitting this but...) I have seen all 4 Hunger Games All the Maze Runner And all of the Divergents And they are so chock full of Mary-Sue syndrome, that if it was a disease it would be a terminal case. Though they aren't the worst movies I have ever seen, they are rather bland and predictable. Which makes me wonder just how longwinded and boring the books would be, given that they will no doubt cram in the 'tragic backstory' for the characters just to pad out the length of the books, when we don't need a middle of the story 200-400pg infodump on just how bad things were/are for them, and how they are destined to be the 'chosen one. By being plot demanded and well given the plot armor that the red shirts simply don't get, just so the MC's in these video format stories really try to get you to give a shit about, when in reality they are just part of the McGuffin list to make said MC's life that much more simple in being the forced victor due to what the wish fullfillment of the authors who have labored so tirelessly to have such generic characters (arcs included), with the stock set of supporting cast, and extremely obvious and incompetent bad guys (that are basically copy pasted for the sake of simply needing more than just life sucks, for the MC's to over come in ridiculously easy ways.) (Huge Breath). This broadcast is now over, and will be back same time next week, and the same great station.
I saw the movies. Yeah, YA, sure, fine. Trite, but the book (only read ther first one) is much better, includes (obviously) a lot more detail that was missing from the movies. Like the fact that getting enough food is a major issue in the Hunger games. It's hinted at in the movies, but the book shows what they go through.
I finally bought a tv! I haven't had a need for one in years because my laptop sufficed. But then that laptop crashed and died and I bought a new one and come to find out it won't play my dvd's! Then I moved and my dvd's were all the wrong region code anyway, so yeah. A few months ago someone gave me a newish dvd player with the correct region code, but alas no way to use it, so yesterday I bit the bullet and bought the tv, it was on sale, saved a bunch of money! It should be delivered today.
For myself, a 64 oz growler off the Bethesda store with Nuka-Cola printed on the side... I am also waiting for them to restock a Dark-Nuka one as well. As for my dog, I got her a new Leather Color and Name Tag (her old tag fell apart)
On my UK trip I bought: - Watercolor sketchbook - Small mixed media sketchbook - Regular, small sketchbook - Two inking pens - Set of 12 watercolor pencils - Extra brow watercolor pencil - Extra terracotta watercolor pencil - Extra dark pinkish watercolor pencil - Tiny notebook for work - A Grumpy Cat toy for Balt - because I could't resist! - Also birthday presents for my mother, a sort of Easter present for my parents and charming cat shapes candies for them for taking care of Balt! So... mostly art supplies!
Embarrassed for being 12cents short at the store this morning, that is what I recently got, while running an errand for my dad.
I couldn't help myself oh, it was too cute to pass up. I got an 8 oz Doom water flask. I'm hoping there's a Fallout version at some point, since that would make the most sense
I got a desk globe. I was tired of having flat maps of the Earth on the wall over my desk because they're so distorted. Much better to have my globe. When my renovations are complete and I have a much bigger office here, I'm going to get one of those big elegant floor-mount globes like you see in all those old movies where professors and their henchmen go off in search of the Lost World and stuff. I'm going to be one of those professors! Only instead of going off in search of the Lost World, I'm going to do the smart thing and stay home, where it's nice and comfy.
Today's Amazon order: two pairs of bootlaces (72", brown and black), a new ceiling light for the kitchen, paint scraper for the dreaded job of painting the storage shed and a small portable fuel tank for testing a motorcycle with the tank removed - all for $58.18 w/tax.
Rosewood Mala, a dark yellow Free Tibet t-shirt (The only time I'll wear yellow), two books - Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie so I can jump into that after finishing Before they are hanged. And The Bodhisattva Guide by his holiness The Dalai Lama. Lots of buying today. Very unlike me, but books man. BOOKS. Plus the other stuff too but BOOKS MAN.
