Would anyone want a serious review of this Android tablet and keyboard combo? I think it's a fairly good writing platform overall, but I'm not sure, where exactly, something like that should get posted.
Mod hat on, I think a hardware review thread might be a good idea, but I'm not sure where. Lemme check with the others and get back to you, okay?
Here you go, The Hardware Discussion Thread: I don't have the authority to make a new subforum or rename the old one, so I've shoehorned it into the software forum, but as a sticky it should be easy to find. Be sure to read and follow the caveats, but otherwise, have at it!
Organising IMGBB into folders, but wanted to show these two cards off till then. Sapphire HD 6670 pristine cond (except for slight bend in some fins but easily straightened), cute with nice minimalistic lines and a purdy name tag. Currently running this one... Spoiler Gigabyte GTX 970, not as cheap as free like many of my cards, but considering the original price and the exceptionally pristine condition, with no history of OCing, it was worth it. (well, in the grand or even short term scheme of things, the bulk of my vid cards aren't worth it. It's an irrational and pointless hobby, collecting vid cards, but it's an experience I'm enjoying and learning more about myself, and I look forward to the day of selling them as cheap as free for others to use and enjoy) The unpacking...original box... (under me desk, boxes of all my other cards) Spoiler The sexy black box inside... Spoiler More sexy black stuff... Spoiler Triple fans in a steel surround...nice... Spoiler Solid steel base...the nice continues... Spoiler Being an introvet, I'm not into bling, but the minimal bling of the illuminated sign is the icing on the cake... Spoiler Testing and photoshoot over, it's gone back into the box and carefully stored away.
Dang, edited my last post three times just now, no matter how many times I check I still leave typos and crap in my writing... perhaps that's why I've been doing at least 30 re-edits of me book and still come across fixes. Interesting thing about my 970, when I was checkin' 'er out and after purchase, I was so thrilled about it and judged it'll be the pinnacle of my collection, and though I do like it a lot, after installing testing and reboxing, I noticed it holds equal value as most of my other cards that were bought for the purdies. I understand my attitude toward it would be different if I bought cards purely for reasons of power for gameplay or video editing, but for collecting reasons only, the expensive top of the range 970 is the same as my > $40 (including shipping) buys..hence sharing the pics of my Sapphire. Anyways, once again super excited for it might be lappy day today. Been up since 1am and I have to wait till 10 when the posthuman drops off our mail.
Brought two more ties. Not that I enjoy wearing a tie, but its good to have options when getting fancy and whatnot. Need to pickup some shoes next, though, I need to go shoe shopping alone. That takes time and careful consideration after all. Thinking of getting a double monk this time, since my last ones are shot. We'll see.
Bought a new keyboard and mouse for my laptop, a small Anker USB hub for my iPad, and a gigantic portable battery. Once I get an iPad carrying case, a USB-C fast charger, and a Quad HD monitor, my setup will be complete (as far as this old eBay Mac goes). More importantly, I'll own all my equipment, instead of using my dad's old VGA monitor.
˜snoopy dance˜ Lappy arrived today instead of wensdee. Hard ride this morn, so will unpack tomorrow. Bought 3 metres of black 50mm ag(agriculture) pipe in village to conduct tyre diameter tests on me treadlee before I buy a set of road tyres $80-100\pair. Can slit the pipe thus make the diameter range from 45-50mm (already have 40mm at home) Current knobbies are 57mm, road tyres on my short list come in 40, 44.5, 47 and 50mm. Wanna see what the skinniest looks like as skinnier is better for roll resistence, but don't wanna tyre that looks ugly.
The other day...pristine condition GTS450 in original box... While cleaning and repasting, discovered a "Shutup and take my money !" surprise... Spoiler The fan hinges out to clean heatsink fins
This finally arrived today, after much fannying around, and I must say it was worth the hassle. For £22 it's a solid little device - reminds me very much of the old iPhones in terms of appearance and build quality. Good sounds, too, with very intuitive menu/navigation and responsive controls.
I recently got some ink for my printer, but I just ordered a hundred 4 by 6 photo paper so I can print my own pictures. Either ones I create on the computer or taken myself with my iPad or sometimes ones I have stolen from the internet of celebrities who I think will inspire my writing or art.
An expensive (for me) haircut that came with a shampoo and scalp massage. Nice, but I don't know if I can afford to treat myself that way very often. But it did feel nice....
Ordered a small decaf coffee. Got a large decaf coffee. Lady asks me "Is there anything wrong sir?" An I just shook my head with a smile. Gonna buy shoes today. Which takes an inordinate amount of time.... but it's all fun for me. Especially wearing expensive shoes I'd never buy, fufufu.
I want to buy Chick-Fil-A chicken something but problem is that I had to pay my phone bill instead to restore services.
Well the Continentals were reported wrong, out of stock, and old models, thus no more. Another seller has the latest model Continentals, but @ $57 a pop, then spider senses were nudging me to stop obsessing over tyre width and go back to my all time fav tread pattern with the percieved too skinny 45mm width. I went to the bike shed and rechecked what 45 looks like, then thought some more about how maybe 50 for a smooth road tyre is too much. I bought a set of these for $85 delivered... ...also snagged a new set of riding sunnies, cheap no brand with 4 light coloured lenses as anything slightly tinted with polarising is just too dark in the morns or on overcast days. Also got a set of NGK iridium plugs for me ute as I broke one of the old set I had soaking in degreaser...plus upon research and closer inspection the current set are just too clogged up with crap that can't be easily removed. Perhaps I've had 'em in me donk far longer than I imagine. All this arrives in a week or so.
Having someone do your hair, the whole washing deal, yep, feels so nice. And as others may have experienced, some shops get a little bit too imaginative in their efforts to give customers a pleasant hair experience, thus increase potential for folks returning. One particular shop back in my late teens, the girls intentionally pressing their bodies unnecessarily against my shoulders, arms and getting a tad to close to my face. No doubt a pleasant experience in my youth, but unappreciated when I was madly in love with my ex-wife and later on when I chose celibacy as a lifestyle.
After much research just snagged an old school but new Deore LX FD-T660-9 front der from sunny old England to replace the 2nd hand deore that turned out to have severely worn shafts. One might think 2nd hand bike gear would always be a bad idea, but it depends on how much ussage, as my yet to be installed XTR rear der was super cheap but was only used once for a test run out of the bike shop. The 2nd hand front der looked in very good nick but the mechs were worn. You win some, you lose some.
