Girlfriend brought me a "Cooking With Diabetes" cookbook with at least two hundred recipes in it. Goddamnit. How dare she care about my health more so than I? Now I have no excuse for eating like shit. Bah. I'm kidding. The book will do me some good. Very appreciative. She also brought me an economics textbook.
Cooking with diabetes should be no different than cooking with a sore knee, it's the eating that can get you into trouble
I tried explaining how, in the unlikely event some werewolf or mutated giant mosquito were to attack us, I could distract it with my bloody sweetness. But nooooo, let me be a disappointing snack so she could get eaten too.
We got a new kettle today which I'm very happy with. Nice, simple design and seems really easy to clean. I also got a nice pillow... which is quite hard in this country. Most places seemed to want to sell me two bad ones instead of one good.
Looking for a paino. So naturally, I'm at Steinway & Sons but yesh, the prices on these things are outlandish! My cheapskate heart nearly broke from looking! So, I brought this tiny paino music box instead. ETA: fixed a typo. Phone likes to muck up.
We have Kawai upright piano, a Steinway baby grand piano, and a miniature children's piano, along with a bunch of key boards. Looking to get rid of the steinway. It was originally a player piano that's been converted. Sound was never all that good. Leg is a little broke and the stain is mess. That upright though is phenomenal.
Hmm. You may have just helped me out in the search for a present. Thanks EF. Quick question: Does a Steinway sound better than a Kawai? I know nothing of piano quality and the only other person that does cannot find out about my searching.
I bought mantles for my Gaz lamps. Online purchase - probably top 5 most precious items, after boards and other ‘rubbish.’ Son’s camping SW in September when Devon/Cornwall are a paradise. Meanwhile he’s lobbying hard for my dog future...
@Moon First you have to look at what type of piano you want. I.E. grand, baby grand, player, upright, etc. They are all going to sound different (the player plays itself). A lot of it is up to purchasing quality tuning, and having a really good mover as well. Steinways are generally better, but a more solidly put together and well tuned instrument is best of all of course. I would sample listening to the sounds of different types of pianos and then decide which type you would like.
I've got some studying to do. Starting with her old Steinway, as I have no idea which type it is. Thanks again!
Blisters. Weeks of vacation followed by three days of having to make the Long Walk from the station to the part time job, and because reasons I didn't choose my best walking shoes each day. That changes today, but tomorrow I've got to play tour guide for a friend who's visiting.
I get these on the tops of my feet from new work boots. I can't walk to long of a distance in normal shoes because my ankles are a mess, but the work boots hold them together nice. I just hate breaking them in.
I miss monkey boots. Mine were czech greasies. Smooth and comfy. Only see the patent ones, now. Euch!
Trying to find something like this. They were my favourites. Before that it was brogues with the dm sole, or winklepicker dms
Mine were branded as 'Nana boots', but the box contained the oiled paper and the czech mil-tag. There was a UK site, come to think of it, but I never saw greasies on there. *sigh*
