    This is a dissapointment...

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by ValianceInEnd, Jan 17, 2008.

I was looking forward to the film Cloverfield, when my friend went to the premiere and told me it was absolute garbage. He said that it was about 50 minutes long, and it abruptly ends in the middle of action. The handheld camera is nauseating and the acting is terrrible. He said he couldn't make any sense of a story that never really explains what's going on. In his own words, the monster you see for all of 2 seconds looks like a "fag gila monster" :p.
I'm dissapointed to say the least...

Yeah, the movie impaled itself in the last 5 minutes. Before then, it was quite good.

The monster wasn't 'special' enough. I should've been the Creative Designer behind it.

Hmm. Better wait until the DVD comes out. Much cheaper then spending 25 bucks to go see it in the cinema.

    25?!?!

    Yikes, that's ridiculous.

Isn't it $15 for adults across the country?

In the case of Cloverfield, it was a deliberate homage to the earlier films.

That's kind of disappointing... I was slightly looking forward to seeing it. Has to be better than I Am Legend though (granted they are fairly different story-wise...)

Wowza, it's 15 bucks for adults in Australia? And yes, the Statue of Liberty thing is a homeage, and since its such a famous monument, its cool to see it destroyed. lol

The fact that the trailer told you nothing was sort of a tip off that it was going to be bollocks. They had nothing to show in the trailer.

Yeah, that's true... a cheap marketing scam much like that of the film Primeaval (which wasn't all that bad, but from watching the trailer you wouldn't know its about a gaint crocodile flick). The best way to make a quick buck...
