    Greetings, writing community

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by M.A., Sep 8, 2019.

After a few days of browsing this wonderful forum and writing a few posts, I have come to realize that a proper introduction might be in order.

For as long as I can remember I have been reading and writing fantasy. After a longer break, I recently picked up my old writing-hobby - which I now hope will develop into something more than just a hobby.

I've chosen to call myself M.A. because I had to think of something on the spot. Despite considering myself a creative man, I've never had much imagination when creating user names online. I've also never been good at socializing online (which is a bit sad, considering the times we live in). However, I am ready to challange myself and get to know some wonderful writers, and hopefully learn a thing or two in what looks like a very promising and relevant forum.

Hi M.A, and welcome to the forum.

I'm one of the moderators here, in case you wondered. I have to say, your forum name is fine. Okay, it's not one to conjure with, I agree, but it's also not one that is going to make you feel silly a couple years down the road, either. It's simple, will be easy to remember and won't typecast you or reveal your true identity. All good. And of course you can spruce it up any time you want a change, simply by changing your avatar.

If you're a Fantasy lover, you have come to the right place. So many of our members read, write and love Fantasy of all kinds. You are in grave danger of fitting in right away. :)

Start your socialising slowly, if that makes you comfortable, and don't feel you need to rush. You do need to be a New Member here for two full weeks, make at least 20 posts and do two critiques if you want to post a piece of your own work for feedback in our Workshop. But you can take your time and go at your own pace on your journey to becoming a full Member.

I would strongly suggest that you read these two links before you get going, though. They'll keep you right in terms of what we do and don't do here on the forum.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing your straightforward name appearing on whatever threads you find interesting. Enjoy yourself, get to know us and let us get to know you. And do have fun.

If you encounter any problems, feel free to contact me by clicking my owl avatar and 'start a conversation' with me. I'll do my best to help.

    Cheers,
    Jan
