Hell yes it's a film. And it looks like it could be amazing: An all star cast, the trailer loaded with Pynchon's odd humour; please God, don't let this suck. It looks so good!
Oh wow, this is the first I'm hearing of this. Good film adaptations of good books are hard to come by. I remember Atonement and The Road being good. I never watched Blindness because I'm not sure I want to watch the rape scene, but that movie got mixed reviews. On a side note, I wonder if the cast had to actually read Inherent Vice.
I'm really hoping, to be honest against hope, that this is one of those good adaptations. The trailer looks really promising too, so my fingers and toes are crossed. And yeah, I can't help but wonder too. But the fact he's playing Doc, gives me a new found amount of respect for Joaquin Phoenix!
It's even been confirmed Pynchon has a cameo in the film. That could almost be a joke, knowing his sense of humour.
