Thomas Pynchon's Inherent Vice - the film?

Discussion in 'Entertainment' started by Lemex, Sep 30, 2014.

Hell yes it's a film. And it looks like it could be amazing:

An all star cast, the trailer loaded with Pynchon's odd humour; please God, don't let this suck. It looks so good! :D

Oh wow, this is the first I'm hearing of this. Good film adaptations of good books are hard to come by. I remember Atonement and The Road being good. I never watched Blindness because I'm not sure I want to watch the rape scene, but that movie got mixed reviews.

On a side note, I wonder if the cast had to actually read Inherent Vice. :p

I'm really hoping, to be honest against hope, that this is one of those good adaptations. The trailer looks really promising too, so my fingers and toes are crossed.

And yeah, I can't help but wonder too. :p But the fact he's playing Doc, gives me a new found amount of respect for Joaquin Phoenix!

It's even been confirmed Pynchon has a cameo in the film. That could almost be a joke, knowing his sense of humour.
