Just a thread to talk about the Olympic Games. For anyone tuning into the games. Discuss your thoughts here.
If you've ever written anything that no one else understood or all of your beta readers were like "huh?", don't feel bad. I read an article that the Italian opening ceremony uniforms were designed with the tricolor Pacman circle to resemble the Japanese flag. Not sure if this is true or not, but it makes the most sense.
The official mascot of the Tokyo Olympics should be Miyamoto Musashi. After all, he did write the Book of Five Rings.
Quite surprised that the opening ceremony received such poor turnout. Under 1000 spectators in the audience. Or something like that. But the world is just about overcoming a global pandemic. It is to be expected.
Foreign fans aren't permitted at the games, and it may not be currently popular within Japan due to COVID and other factors.
