    These are hilarious. :-D The only one I would not use is the one about stereotypes, and only because the word toxic is right now in the throws of having been grabbed up by the gestalt zeitgeist and semantic shift is sure to be highly volatile for the next few months. :bigconfused:

    Yep, that's the one. Actually it's a running joke in our face-to-face writers' group. One of the members (and we're all good friends outside of the meetings as well, so we joke around a lot) read out a very long and lively chapter from a book he's working on, and it was full of promise, mystery, foreboding, foreshadowing ...and at the end of it, the character just packed up and went home, unscathed. And we said ...great writing, but 'nothing actually happened.'

    Well.

    He's never let us forget it!

    I think there should be a 'misleading' sign. For those books that promise one thing, and deliver something else entirely. (Bet Me cough cough). :D
