    Kind of techie, but interesting, I thought, and I suspect the effect is more pronounced in much of the fantasy genre that's popular here.

    Hmm... Interesting, but not surprising.

    So if I understood correctly this analysis is based on plot descriptions lifted from Wikipedia? Not actual novels?

    I can't say I'm surprised. But I think you also have to take into account genre. Romance novels tend to have female leads, political thrillers tend to have male leads, and the amount of verbs used differ greatly.
