Hello, everyone. I joined this forum in the hope of learning some new skills. I've always been interested in writing, and have been told I'm good, though I'm not too certain myself. =] Since I'm going to apply for English and Creative Writing at Uni, I thought it would be quite useful to join these forums, and I can get to know some great people in the process (hopefully ;]). Anyway, my other basic interests include reading, of course, gaming (especially Final Fantasy or Zelda), manga and anime, Photoshop, and making music videos from Final Fantasy clips. If you wanna know anything else, just ask. Oh, and the title of this thread... Well, I'm awfully tired. I was up late the other night, thinking about something upsetting that happened around 7pm that day. >_< So, I'm on the verge of falling asleep. Yet I'm stuck in my dad's office, surrounded by the sounds of the dominant cars outside.

It should be obvious, but incase it isn't, let me explain. The Writing Problems Area is exclusively where opinions on different ways to write, blockages in writing styles and similar problems can be discussed. In the Review Rom, you can get critical appreciation and/or analysis of your written material. Behold, you must first review two pieces of writing before postign your own. This is ensure the pieces are evaluated to the most. Other than this, we have Writing Cotnests, weekly and monthly, where you can submit your writing. We also have Word games, Book Discussion and so on, classified under Community interaction. It may interest you if you're just hanging around. adamant has been kind enoguh to put many of the things I have mentioned or missed out on in one comprehensive place. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. I've played I, II, III (D.S. I'm not far at all), IV and VI. I've almost finished II but I'm not that far in the others. =]

Welcome Hi there, welcome (this is quite late, sorry!), i'm new here too and you've probably done more posts than me already but hope you enjoy this site ... i've found just by reading other peole's short stories it has given me help. Just wandering, did you get Lirael from the book by Garth Nix or did you just think it was cool ... sorry thats what drew my attention to your post!
