Anyone understand the musical note of this particular syllable in Con Te Partiro?

    Hello,
I'm no expert in music. I do understand there is c minus or whatever you call them.

The name of the note I'm asking for is the "ro" syllable of Con Te Partiro in this following song:
Andrea Bocelli - Con Te Partiro.

    The note is F.

It's a dotted minim (UK) or dotted half-note (US).

The piece is in Common Time, which means 4 beats to the bar (think quickstep - I'm guessing that doesn't help!).

A minim will last for 2 of those beats (so, instead of 4 crochets, or quarter-notes, counting 1-2-3-4, you'd have 1---3---, try quick-quick-quick-quick = slow-slow). A dotted minim will last for 3 of those beats, so whereas a minim followed by 2 crochets will be 1---3-4, "slow-quick-quick", a dotted minim followed by 1 crochet will be 1-----4, "slower-quick".

    Hope this helps!

BTW, why do you want to know?

Thanks everyone. I need it for one my character in the story where he loves collecting ancient opera song. Note in this world, humans have lost most of the culture and technology we know of today.

So, if culture has been lost, would your character actually know what that piece would sound like? Or is he just collecting it because: a) he loves old manuscripts? b) he's collecting it just because it's valuable? c) some other reason?

I ask because I've got the same piece of guitar music on 3 different CDs by 3 different guitarists. It's fascinating to hear how differently they all play it (and yes, I do have a favourite version) so does our hero actually even like music?
