Anyone have any experience? I'm entering #MoodPitch next week and it's my first time giving anything like this a go. Had to make a Mood Board which was surprisingly challenging.
I don't know anything about mood boards but Sandra Bullock is pretty distracting. I would oust her, personally.
That's not Sandra Bullock. It's actually an AI generated image mixed with FaceApp. Six of the images are AI generated.
Sure does look like her. I had to do a double-take because one part of my mind said it was a picture of her and another part said FAKE!
I did #PitMad until it was discontinued earlier this year. My second was my most successful, with a full request from a Hugo-nominated editor. Ultimately ended up being a no-fault personal rejection, with her publication in the midst of transitioning to an audio-only market. I’ve done others since then, like #SFFPit, but none have quite matched that success. It’s a safe bet that you’ll get way more likes from random people than from editors or agents. #MoodPitch is an interesting concept; I don’t know if I’ll be doing this one just because my finished manuscripts would be tough to make mood boards for, but the challenge is appealing. I’d be happy if mine looked even half as good yours, OP.
The guidelines do request people try to refrain from leaving likes so as not to unnecessarily excite waiting authors. And thank you for the kind words, @X Equestris but you should know I don't have an artistic bone in my body. The board was made exclusively through Canva, I just added the images and toned down the saturation.
