Indeed, the emotional trauma of an individual sleeping with one's maternal figure is most grievous. :p

Was riding on a tidal wave of emotions, and yesterday was a shit day
due to a lot of stress. So I can't do what I did the day before yesterday,
without first knowing I have the next day pretty much stress free and
have someone to talk to, to bring me back down.

Unless I'm very much mistaken alcoholic drinks in the UK don't come with a proof reading, only ABV.

The 'proof' reading comes from the 1700s, when a liquor's alcohol level had to be proved by mixing it with gunpowder and setting it alight. If the liquid flamed up it was proven.

For those of us in the UK, the proof reading is double that of the ABV.

In the US, it's illegal to list the alcohol percentage of beer. The knuckleheads in Congress thought that providing vital consumer information might lead underage drinkers to choose the strongest drinks.

I remember those days clearly, 16 years old, hiding under the bleachers, one of my friends has a warm six-pack of MGD which we all turned our noses up at and went home sober because he couldn't be bothered to steal the good stuff from his father's garage...

EDIT: Apparently, my memory was faulty and this isn't true.

    But not the proof reading?

Surely all they need do is half that figure and hey presto! They have their ABV.

Both a useless fact and a confession of sorts: Dean Koontz went and inspired the shit out of me to feature a couple of canine companions. He has his Fur Face, and I have Doglips and Barkley. May they match or best the entertainment value of a mentor.

Nope, liquor lists proof, but beer has no information at all as to how much alcohol is in it. Makes it nice for adults trying to figure out if even a capful of the stuff will put them over .08, or if they can drink it by the bucketful and drive home safely and legally.

Also, Japanese pop singer Ayumi Hamasaki was voted Best Female Jeanist in 2003. No word on whether or not the award came with a pair that wasn't in such bad condition, or at least the money to buy some new ones.
