Waylon Jennings, who was discovered by Buddy Holly, was to have flown on the plane the night of the crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson), but he gave his seat to The Big Bopper and rode on the tour bus instead.
When Holly heard Jennings gave his seat to Richardson, he jokingly said to Jennings: “Well, I hope your ol’ bus freezes up.” Jennings immediately responded: “Well, I hope your ol’ plane crashes.”
"Common" in the past usually means not very upper class and I haven't seen those names on any old historical elites so if that was a thing it was probably peasant types.
If we ever somehow invented faster-than-light travel, we could watch ourselves arriving once we'd gotten to where we were going.
There are now wild capybara living in Gainesville, Florida, where I attended university. https://www.gainesville.com/news/20160919/floridas-largest-rodent-may-have-come-from-area-facility
Future paleontologists will say that the area used to be populated by wreybies, but clearly they were displaced by the wild capybara. They will conclude that the capybara had clear evolutionary advantages.
I love these things, but never knew what they were called. I want one. Do you think you're allowed to own them as pets?
Oh, bless its little webbed feet that's cute! Thanks, Wrey! ETA: useless fact: when I look at @Wreybies ' avatar on my laptop at a certain angle, it looks like the main Keebler Elf in front of their hollow tree. Or maybe I just always want cookies.
Cookie comes from the dutch "Koekje" meaning "little cake". thought it would be relevant given the topic here currently.
Triple chocolate in terms of the chips, but quad chocolate if you include the cocoa powder in the mixture. Enjoy!
To be honest, if all my friends did it then it means it's probably safe, so I probably would. That and cliff jumping is a pretty classic summer water sport up here in Canada, so why not?
