    Are you defining rainy by average number of rainy days per year or total amount of precipitation? I don't think the latter is a very good measure of raininess.

    The meter isn’t a random arbitrary length. The metric system is based on the size of the earth, with one meter being one ten millionth of the length of a quadrant of the earth’s surface measured from the equator to the north pole.

    E minor, yeah. Little F#, little B (5th of E), some A.

    Big Ben is probably E major, though, which would be what? C# minor? Joe Satriani used that one a lot. The 9 - 12 pentatonic box.

    I don't think Em is necessarily overrepresented in the metal I listen to; I mean it's pretty common I guess, but bands like AIC, Skid Row, Mastodon, and a lot of extreme bands that I listen to all have songs in a bunch of different keys. "You Will Suffer" is in D for example.

    Now John Fogerty is someone who only wrote in Em, I mean good grief.

    I was referring more to the classic open E power chord pedal riffs. Metallic, Megadeth, Slayer, and the like.

    Forgot about Skid Row, haha. They weren't bad. AIC and the grungers definitely used more classic rock patterns. Lots of C and G.

    In the movie Back to School, the scene where Mellon gets Kurt Vonnegut to write his term paper on Kurt Vonnegut was inspired by Rodney Dangerfield's desire to meet Vonnegut, of whom he was a fan.

    Kurt Vonnegut once said the only reason to ever use a colon( : that colon, not the gut colon,) was to show you had been to college.

    I often think of this quote whenever I use a semicolon.

    I think they;re really useful; a semi-colon isn;t equivalent to a period. If you look through my posts on this forum you;ll probably see that I;ve been guilty of overusing them; it;s one of those little indulgences that doesn;t do an; rea; har;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

    tuning, used by older, but I think mostly by nu metal bands. The new djent rules is to detune your guitar until it becomes crunchier and bassier than the bass itself.

    I use it very often when I write... in greek. It's our question mark. Finding the equivalent of the semicolon when typing in greek is a mf. You have to set it up manually in the keyboard controls. Thank god we use it sparsely.

    They ain't seen 'Muricans yet. The FAA had to up its average per passenger weight (with carry-on luggage) from 170 lbs to 190lbs about 15 years ago. I'm 190 in just my natural fur coat, and I'm the skinny one in my peer group back home :)
