I have a character, whose name is Ahmed, but people sometimes call him Old Ahmed ("Old" is a kind of a nickname other people use to tell him from other Ahmeds). Should I write just Old Ahmed or use an article with it (if yes, which one: "a" like with an adjective, or "the" to stress that this is THAT Ahmed?) Sorry, might sound like a stupid question, but these articles are real pain for me... Thanks in advance for help! Example of the specific phrase: Scared of my own fantasy I had spent quite a bit of time crying behind the Temple of Oracle before Old Ahmed found me.
Thanks After some revision I've already found three more characters named like that: Elder Lord, Young Lord, Wise Mirryth, and I guess, there could be more... People in my book tend to give lots of suchlike nicknames to others , so thought I should figure it out before it's gone too far.
