I am not sure if it is just me...maybe the blondeness is really showing or something here, I don't know.... But is there anyway that we can get notification of visitor messages other than checking in our user CP? I am not sure if there is or isn't....but I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere...have I missed it or isn't there a notification for it? If not is there any chance we could get one?
There simply isn't one or it's not working.....I remember Daniel saying he would add or fix one in the respective cases.
torana I didn't even know that was there for messages until about a month ago. sure hope nobody thought I was rude for not answering. guess I should have maybe read the newbie package. but then I never read instructions for anything.
The feature has only been in place for a month or two - it was added in the last software upgrade for the site, the same time profiel customization was added. I don't think you'll find anything about it in the newbie packets.
I still haven't gotten around to it, but I will soon. You should have a drop-down menu that shows up whenever you have a visitor message/PM/blog comment, that sort of thing. However, to add that feature I need to update the style slightly.
I thought exactly the same thing. I don't often remember to check so it'd be useful to have some sort of reminder. As Daniel and Cogito said though, nothing yet.

lol, thanks. I don't know about email alerts. I'll look into it though. Seems like it could flood your inbox fairly frequently.

no email alerts for me please. I like surprises. But the notice when I come to the board is great. Daniel you are a gentleman and a scholar. Don't change.
Thanks lessa. If we do give email alerts, it'll be optional and by subscription only. Banzai, the difference would be only that they come more frequent. You'd get one for each visitor comment, friend request, etc. One thing that isn't included on the alerts is blog posts (for those you're subscribed to) and blog comments. I'll look into adding notifications for them as well.
Is there a setting for the conversations on your profile? I see the ones that say you have to approve it, but I can't see anything in the Options to have them set like that.
