Short Story Dark Romanticism (Short Story) Ideas?

Discussion in 'Genre Discussions' started by oceanborn1, Apr 23, 2010.

    Hello!

I need a theme for a short story. The goal is for it to be a dark romantic, like Edgar Allen Poe or Nathaniel Hawthorne. It may include one of the seven deadly sins. It is not to be a finished story, only to reach the conflict.

My original idea was to be about a woman in espionage, perhaps an American spy in the USSR post WWII... or something of that sort.
But I haven't the fainted idea how to go about it.

    Throw some ideas at me?
    Thanks!

You should come up with your own story ideas. This particularly applies to school assignments.

You could always browse the library or a local bookstore to get some ideas.

Also, you should probably look up dark romanticism before you proceed, so you understand what the assignment is looking for. Google is your friend.
