woo hoo it is 6 degrees and only partly cloudy! We just got over 2 weeks of intense ice fog----so I am extremely happy to see the sky and be above zero.
lo-80s [feels like 88, due to 89% humidity] at 9am... sunny with clouds now and then, probably a bit voggy, as it's been so for the past week, with winds blowing our way from the not-so-friendly neighborhood volcano... and the usual 50% chance of rain, which means it'll rain [for a few minutes] sometime during the day...
Darn you maia, you're so damned literate that when I read "voggy", I thought, "Hey, she's using a word I don't know!" After rushing to my dictionary, and a brief pause in the "V'" section, I realized the typo...DUH!
I'm in Adelaide too Gone Wishing. It was SO hot last night and our airconditioner isn't working very well at all! That snow sounds SO nice right now. I want to go there!!!!
Quite. Ugh, I have no air conditioning, and I live in one of those little match-box type units that gets hotter inside than it is outside. >_< My current plan of action to deal with the heatwave is to steadily get grumpier and grumpier, whilst melting into a horribly messy puddle that vaguely resembles a human being. I have a freezer full of Sunny Boys, but they just don't last long enough, lol.
A lot of you Australians are complaining about the heat. Do none of you have air-conditioning? Is that just not the thing Down Under? (not making fun or anything. I am just curious. It is a rarity around here to not have air-conditioning)
Why don't you ozzies move to New Zealand? Still warm but better scenery and actually rains more than once in a blue moon that has a orange moon of it's own!!
It's cold outside and the sun is up. Well the weather says its 59 degrees....I disagree. Tonight it's going be 34 degrees outside.
it's not a typo salty, and it is a common word for anyone who knows volcanoes or lives in wind-reach of one... dictionaries are historically slow in catching up with word coinage and this one arose quite some time after the birth of its genesis, another useful portmanteau word [look it up, if you don't know this nifty term], 'smog' [first used for london's deadly smoke-fog combo in 1905]... hey, wrey! my island's a lot tinier 'n your island!... it measures only 4 by 10 miles [smaller than most of your isle's cities], while PR is 100 by 35 [around the size of connecticut and 3x the size of rhode island (which isn't an island, at all, so i don't get the name)!]... and we're 3.5 degrees of latitude more tropical, too, so there!
Yeah most of us do have airconditioners. I love Australia and love the warm weather but this is unusually warm. It was the hottest night on record the other night. It got down to a low of 33.7 celsius (or about 93 F). Most of us have really good airconditioning (I just got married and am now renting so it sucks) but it's just not coping. The trains were stopped here the last couple of days because the tracks warped in the heat! It's insane. I have sunny boys in the freezer too Gone Wishing and icy poles but there's only so many of those you can eat without cutting up the roof of your mouth
our weather is pretty similar to Leaka's...I think we were supposed to reach a high around 40...so I guess a little colder than Cali but it's not that bad upp here, chilly bgut not too terrible
