    Silent No More

Ever since we were put on her land
She silently has endured our abusive demands.
Taking what was natural we tore it to shreds,
Her virginal land and breathtaking beauty now dead.

Now controlled by the fury from the pain of abuse,
She rages and storms against those who used.
Her memory long and her records correct,
Now she will collect on a long standing debt.

With the heat of her rage,
    She commands and fuels flames.
The flames consume all that cause her disgrace,
Purifying herself of all of our waste.

Blinding cold snow storms easily show,
How her heart has no compassion, its turned cold as stone.
This horrendous choice of revenge now revealing,
How our abuse has used up all chances of forgiving.

Silent no longer, we can finally hear,
The scream of her anguish, which has become so severe,
It shakes the whole land, it causes destruction and fear,
Her revenge temporarily satisfied by our many tears.

The tears from her pain, no longer held back,
She uses their magnitude to carry out her attack.
Using her skill she creates unearthly waves,
Which will send her abusers to watery graves.

Her unquenchable thirst of revenge is now plain,
By the terrors she sends to cause widespread pain.
The sight of these funnels creates heart stopping fear,
Fear birthed by their reputation to destroy all we hold dear.

Her fury and revenge will not come to an end,
Until she purges our filth, and becomes pure once again.
Never trying to bring healing, we just continue the abuse,
Her punishment will not cease until we choose to cease too.

    Summer again.

Its the heat that drives us all to expose our skin

and shed all the things we wrapped our bodies in,

the bitter wind of the winter broke us in

and through snow and ice we all craved summer again.

And for some strange reason its summer that brings us together,

our bodies tightly molded despite the weather

we scrapped our knees, we played in grass, we floated like feathers

but when the fall came like leaves we changed, we died, we knew no better.

I guess the cold it freezes hearts so that love could lay dormant,

until the start of spring it sparks the need so much it torments.

Then summer again, sweet summer when your shirts off and my imagination wild,

when the sun beams down and the ice cream truck sounds for every single child.

Its summer again, when time seems to slow down,

and you’re around more than than just a couple of days

and I awake to your face and your kiss and touch —that is,

until the jealous winter months steals your love again.

I use to live in a Igloo, but it melted :)
    Southern Alberta Weather Haiku's
    Spring on prairie land
    Usually nice and dry
    Perfect for seeding

    But these past few years
The rain won’t stop fallin’ down
    What was dry is gone

    Two much rain gives pain
    Late seeding means late harvest
    And frost is coming

    Be quick to harvest
Or frost will ruin your crop
    Money will be lost

    The frost comes too soon
    This year September it came
    Destroying good crops

    Now for the winter
Where you expect to be cold
    That’s not how it goes

    Cold then warm then cold
Snow melts then freezes over again
    The blizzard wind blow

    No more smooth roads here
    Cracks cover once smooth pavement
    ‘Cause of melting ice

    Now there’s construction
    I wonder with weather here
    Why fix these bad roads?

    For every winter
The cycle of warm and cold
    Keeps on repeating

    So there’s your good taste
    Of the wonderful weather
    Of south Alberta.
