Hi, I'm Shannon and I'm new here. Obviously or else I wouldn't be posting here. Juste wanted to introduce myself. . . I'm not very good at it. Actually, I usually don't introduce myself when I enter forums, I just kind of Ninja my way into poeples conversations and whatnot BUT I'll be polite this time around and give you all fair warning that I, Shannon, am here. Happy day for you. . . . So yeah.
Hello Shannon, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own writing for comment should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Welcome the the forums! I'm new too so, haha, welcome PS: That Farmville request to join message on facebook annoys me to no ends...
Ah yes, the joined power of the newbies. It's nice to make your accquaintance, Fallen. Ha! I literally live in a town called farmville and i've been able to convince quite a few people that I actually invented the game on Failbook. Some people were like, "No way! wicked cool." and others were more like, "-serious face- if I get. . . ONE more message from that game I will slit someones THROAT!" and that is why you shouldn't lie about things I suppose.
Hey noobs Totally kidding, thought I would use a different word. I just joined the other day so I could be considered one too. Anyway, welcome to the forums both of you!
Oh yes! now we can have like. . . the Newb Tri-force. Like in Zelda I'm defiantely Courage. Cold can be wisdom and Mr.Fallen-cutting-peoples-throats can be power. . . . You guys do know about Legend of Zelda right? I'm not just talking gibberish, right?
I played Zelda a long time ago. But I don't remember anything about it except for his grunts when he slashes and jumps. But hey I can be wisdom, Am I the oldest because that would then fit perfectly. But a newb cant be wise! Maybe I am beyond the newb realm then...
o: Glad someone warned me about the gannon thing, I was about to get all Dins Fire on him. And I dunno know about your age Cold but as you are least newbiest of the three of us, seeing as we just started, so wisdom is yours! and Ha, Links grunting, what a weird thing to remember.
You could always call me Wolf too...apparently that is a new nick. Yeah the grunts..well...you know when he makes noises as he moves right? I guess that stood out! haha...it is odd.
That's your name bud, sorry if you don't like it haha...too bad. Welcome to the forums Nonnie...even though I'm already talking to you in another thread...
Sorry Cold, but I'm bad enough with names as it is, If i try and call you wolf, I'm only gonna get mixed up all over the place. and yes, lol, thanks for the official welcome Flamingo.
Hi, Nonnie, welcome to the forums. I've never posted an intro thread anywhere. Ninja for life. Cute avatar, by the way.
Legend of Zelda? of course! I love that series, and I sadly have all of them, and have beat all of them. x.x
Ha! Ninja for life. -high fives- and thank you, lol, 'cause thats me. Sadly??? How is that sad! Legend of zleda is debatedbly one of the best series of all time. Final Fantasy and Castlevania are also quite good.
Welcome to the Forums! I should state that I have no real power. My job is to draw attention away from it. I am very good at my job.
Well -highfives- for you good sir. I'm very bad at my job. I'm not positive on what my job is, but odds are I'm not doing it very well.
Same here. I'll let you in on a secret, though. . . My eyes don't really glow so evil. It's a trick of the light. But the rest is real, I swear! <flutters his ears earnestly>
