Hey, everyone. Very excited to be here; I love to write, I'm a huge stickler for grammar and spelling (though I try to hold back my urges on that front ), and I'm hoping to have a great time here. This place looks pretty big, so I'd appreciate anyone summing up what goes on here into a sentence or two. A bit about me, I guess. My name is Di (Cyprienne is just a pretty username, unfortunately), I'm fourteen, and I live in New England in the US. I'm an avid reader as well as writer, which I suppose is pretty much of a requirement for a writer anyway, and I also enjoy making graphical art in Photoshop. So, I guess that's about it. Looking forward to meeting new people here.
Hey Di, welcome to the forums. There's pretty much something here to suit just about any member. You'll find some great discussions going on in the General Writing area and The Lounge on all kinds of topics, there are Word Games for when you just want to chill out and if you want to get some feedback on your writing then maybe the Review Room is a good place to be! We do expect you to review a couple of pieces first but i'm sure that'll be no problem. Here at the forums we do place a big emphasis on constructive criticism If you want more information you could check out the FAQs section of the site or just ask Oh and before I forget there are also a few weekly competitions you can take part in Enjoy your stay and have fun!
Hey Di, welcome to the Writing Forums Hope you like it here, it sounds like your sort of site. Feel free to PM one of the mods if you need help with anything.
Hello Di, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well! As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
