Spaghetti sauce with meatballs, sausage, mushrooms, sweet red peppers, and anchovies. Also red pepper flakes, and plenty of garlic. Waiting for water to come to a boil for spaghettini.
    Also garlic bread, from scratch.

It's going to be another cold, snowy Sunday, so I'm whipping up a batch of creamy clam chowder.

There were indeed two mini cupcakes... :)

Tonight I made an avocado and mandarin orange salad with red onion and grilled chicken over a bed of baby spinach leaves and chopped kale. It's topped with orange vinaigrette. It needed something crunchy, so I coarsely crushed some Brazil nuts and threw those on top.
(ETA: Nope, photos hate me here today.)

Absolutely. Puttanesca sauce uses more anchovies than I used, and is just amazing. But a small number of anchovies adds body without screaming "fishies!"

    I miss gas station burritos.
Hate fish, hate anchovies even more, keep a tube of anchovy paste so I can add a little bit (teaspoon?) to my spaghetti sauce because it does help the taste.

It will replace the cereal bars that I have eaten...:p
I am on such a snackfest recently. I think that's tied to me not sleeping well too.

Chalk up another one for spaghetti. I would have had chicken soup, but my roomie thinks it wouldn't have enough, you know, FOOD in it for dinner. So, spaghetti with meat sauce. Something to put on the pounds in this cold weather.

Melt em in the pan and it provides an awesome salty flavor. Great in puttanesca (literally whore's stew), like @Cogito said.

Considering we're talking about 19th century Italian whores working on the docks, "fresh" would probably be the wrong thing to call them.

For some reason this comment chain sparked a thought in my head of Jack The Ripper as a very confused chef. "Whores stew gotta make whores stew."

.....wait no that`s basically Sweeny Todd.

Dinner tonight shalt be....something Thai. Might be some fried rice, veggies with cashews mixed into it with chicken dumplings on the side. Might. Okay, yes, that's it.

Edit - I'm not eating the dumplings. Just the thought makes me want to puke.

Technically 'shalt' is second person, and I am neither dinner nor Thai.

I'm eating an apple and drinking a coffee.

Cheesy noodles, it was cold and its hot. Yesterday was mashed potatoes, chicken, ravey, and peas with chicken salad on toast for breakfast. Need to get better about my food, still. Eat every three hours, intake equal to body weight, all that gaining muscle junk, and dietary changes. Ate the last of the white bread gonna want to buy better versions now. Other changes coming. Hopefully tomorrow I can do better though at least one meal will be a Sheetz stop.

I didn't cook tonight, having had lobster bisque made by someone else, but for lunch, I made egg salad. Now that I think about it, there was no cooking last night, either. That was leftover maple cedar plank salmon and green bean succotash from dinner out on Saturday night. o_O

    We've got bacon!

    Cured, not yet smoked:

Smoked goodness (the larger piece was still in the smoker, took about an hour longer). Bacon Small.jpg
