I`ll also be eating out tonight, at a Bluegrass event. However I do have some ground turkey I need to take out of the freezer to thaw, no idea what I`m doing with that yet. Had some eggs with bacon and potatoes for breakfast.

When you say fried potatoes, do you mean fries/chips?

Now I am curio. What do you do with your potatoes when you have other fried foods? Is it mashed, boiled, steamed, sauteed? o_O
Cos we don't have potatoes for breakfast.

Not me, but my dad was supposed to be cooking chicken curry.

Until he checked the fridge and discovered he'd forgotten to actually buy any chicken.

We ended up having fish fingers and chips instead.

I mean the eggs were scrambled and fluffy not fried, but the potatoes where fried, like Cave Troll said. Just put in a pan and fried up with bacon like a skillet type thing. Wasn`t really a planned thing, just had bacon to use and the potatoes were gonna start to go bad so tossed them all in a pot. Not that potatoes are a uncommon breakfast thing in various forms. Hash browns being the most common and wonderful way.

That they are, had a nice very relaxed day and went to Chinese yesterday. Always bring left overs back from that, the soup and the egg roll gets you halfway full before the main food comes man. So I have plenty of left overs to last me a bit. I do have a sudden craving for grilled cheese despite that though. I think it`s the cold weather that`s bringing the want of a warm comfort foods out.

I'm just going to heat up a frozen pot pie. Beef or chicken - I don't know yet. I feel a bit guilty about this, because it's a totally gorgeous day here in the Pacific Northwest (rare at this time of year) and I feel like I should be in the back yard grilling something. But you know what? I'm still in the process of equipping my new house here, and I don't have a grill yet. So I feel ridiculous for feeling guilty. And I feel guiltier for feeling ridiculous. I don't deserve dinner tonight! But I will defy the gods once again and eat something. And in the meantime, I'll have some Cheetos while I watch football, just to rub it in.

Ugh! Sports! I think I will take a bit of brain damage before anything like that works for me. :p

Don't think of it as "sports." Think of it as a video game. Lots of people hate sports but play video games. So watching football is like watching someone else play a video game. To me, it's an excuse to eat Cheetos and drink ginger beer.

I suppose. Though I would play a video game, eat cheetos, and drink beer. Granted cheeto dust is not good for my joysitck buttons. :p

Biltong is a South African variant on jerky. Jerky is hot-smoked (cooked), but biltong is preserved by soaking the strips of meat in vinegar and salt for a while, and then hanging it to dry. As with all things cooking, opinions on the time of curing and drying vary wildly, but I've come up with a combination of techniques that result in a nice snack after only a couple days.
