Chocolate chip cookies and biscuits filled with double cocoa cream! :D Wish I had some right now. Oh well. So far I'm gorging on my second cup of coffee and doing a bit of writing. The weather is crappy which always inspires me. I'm trying to use it as best as I can. From Tuesday it's gonna be summer again for a while.

Blue Riband. Although the chocolate's not as good as it use to be.

Chocolate chip cookies! Good choice! I'm partial to a chocolate digestive myself... or a custard cream.

Sun's currently out in the UK, but it's a bit chilly.

I'm partial to chocolate-covered graham crackers, and I'll drink any coffee that doesn't drink me first.

Watching old adverts. I loath them now, with every fibre in my body, but back in the day they were truly brilliant.

Oh yes, I forgot about them. Also one of my favorites.

A friend of mine moved to Manchester some days ago. She just sent me a message saying that she's gonna die from the cold.

I remember this one! It was dubbed in greek though, which makes no sense at all if you think about it. Hahaha!

:superlaugh: Well... You know... We're used in warmer weather overall. In her defence, when she left it was still a stable 33 C in Athens. At night you could hang out wearing a T-shirt easily.

When I went to Scotland it was early September. I left wearing a T-shirt and ended up wearing my whole suitcase at the bus stop in Glasgow. I was trembling like a vibrator but it was a goddamned -5 C over there at night! Right across from me slept like a corpse the palest girl I've ever seen, wearing a short summer dress and flip flops, wrapped in but a beach towel, while two toothless, middle-aged guys were fighting a couple of meters behind her, screaming something in heavy scottish, toothless accent. I perceived it had something to do with the gas can they were holding. Good times... Anyhow! I'll pray for her!

Finished eating biscuits. I’m now going to drink beer with my dad.

I've spent the past four and a half days working with my sisters to pack up my mom's independent living apartment to downsize her to assisted living. The others have gone home and I'm sitting in the box-strewn living room reading a packet of old letters I wrote my mom from college about a million years ago. There's something about a typewritten letter . . . you can feel the words on the page.

I fly home tomorrow. And due to the COVID I wasn't able to see my mom, who's currently in rehab, at all.

Reading a novel while listening to Nabucco. I occasionally get a hankering for classical opera and a good book. They go together like wine and cheese, but only when I'm in the mood and that's not very often. I suppose my occasional interest is a result of my upbringing having been exposed to it so much as a child. It brings back happy memories.

Writing this post when I should be revising for an exam tomorrow.

I guess I'd better log-off and get on with it otherwise I'll be up the creek without a paddle tomorrow. ;)

Laying down on a bed with a big, black dog. Laptop upright on my outstretched self. Nap before; going for thirty minutes soon turned an hour and thirty. Waiting on the wife to come back with her momma from Ihop.

I'm disconcerted, really. Over what? Dunno. Sleep isn't easy any night. This will probably be the same. Market level corporate representation high in concentration at my place of employment tomorrow. Had to prepare my training room--a slightly five-year-old space of tile and blanched walls--for sixteen people. Social distancing in mind.

I wish, more than anything, to be creative in this slight. Let real work be done as opposed to what is required. Maybe, tomorrow.

Sleepless, smoking a cigarette, about to make coffee, etc, etc, but I stumbled upon something excitingly interesting: https://dardennephotography.com/Desert/1

His photos are breathtaking. I mean... OMG! Every single one of them. His work gave me an endorphin rush. New destinations on my bucket list and a hell lot of new inspiration for writing. Just what I needed! :D

They are incredible, and it's an incredible part of the world; I think that for natural beauty it's impossible to beat the American west. But of course I'm biased.
The world's a pretty small place--it's crazy. You post this link from Greece to a random photographer's website, I click on it and I recognize specific barns and hills. Synchronicity I guess.

I want so badly to go there now. But now! Why must tickets cost so damn much? If I could only teletransport...

Yes. Everywhere! Especially the canyons. We don't have those around here. Nor do we have white sand deserts. Or deserts as a matter of fact...

Stunning photos, I agree. Very evocative and almost alien. A very talented photographer indeed!

I've just spent a wonderful evening with good friends having a barbeque, good wine and better conversation. It's astonishing how you can click with some people from vastly different backgrounds and yet some family members might as well be bug-eyed aliens (or at least that's the way they treat you).

I am doing the one thing I despise... multitasking! Trying to make dinner, view and post here, AND attend a class in-world in second life. I'm wondering which is going to suffer.

I honestly didn't know Second Life was still around. I remember trying it when it was getting all the publicity but mentions in the media have just dropped to zero; I assumed it had folded.
