I see. I meant what topic would you want to teach? I am a languages teacher.
I am in the UK so it is probably very different. :)

Archaeologist, detective, historian, writer, poet... later politician (yes, I was weird), translator... poet and writer still sticks, although I'd rather just have a life in which I can write on the side and ensure I'm never alone. Note: I'm currently seeking a job (aka unemployed)

In elementary school in the U.S., teachers tend to teach every subject and the students stay in the same classroom all day.

ETA: At least, that was my experience.

The first job I wanted was to make clothes for Barbie dolls, when I was like five. After that I wanted to be a teacher, then I realized I hate school. Then I wanted to be a lawyer until I realized you have to go to college for like eight years. So then I wanted to be a paralegal because they get to work around lawyers but go to school for much less time. But now I'm going to college for four years for English, so...

Politician, though I soon realized my lying skills weren't up to par an I'd much rather strangle one.

Growing up, I thought of it as "Dinosaur Scientist". I've always been very interested in anything to do with prehistoric times.

I wanted to be everything until I figured out that there was not enough time.

Growing up in 60's, the world looked so new and fascinating. Everything seemed possible. Then I reached puberty, and my entire focus turned to the opposite sex and that consumed me beyond any contemporary reasoning, thank god that we are so much smarter now in the 21st century. I was dick for a couple of decades or so and my curiosity for everything else went limp making me me a tool and generally stupid, self-centered and full of piss and vinegar like most healthy teenagers. Where have they gone ?

From age 4 to 11 I wanted to be a garbageman, a bus driver, a doctor, an astronaut, a musician, a father, a zookeeper, a journalist, a filmmaker, a toy factory worker and really wanted to build bridges. Instead, I studied philosophy and literature and learned to fix pinball machines. Goes to show you really never can tell. I am pretty happy now and don't care much for driving a city bus anymore or cutting up and cleaning fish.

    Egyptologist.

There were other things that sparked my interest like being a teacher, vet, or zoologist, but Egyptology has always been a love. We mummified a Barbie doll in Girl Scouts and that started me on my journey.

Historian since I was about 4. Almost finished my studies, and worked in museums. I might get a better gig at a bigger museum soon :) guess my childhood dream of working in some dusty, and book filled basement is coming true. Yay!

We got these boxes we could decorate with heiroglyphs and other art. Then we wrapped the Barbie in strips of fabric. Little camera film cases were the jars that we filled with beans that were shaped like different organs. We put those into the "sarcophagus" with the Barbie and we added in a variety of herbs like cloves. Then we closed the box and voila! Mummy Barbie!

Forgot one: Astronaut. I wanted to explore the Moons of other planets and make discoveries on Mars.

Was just born a bit too early for that....

While I never really went into detail about some of the things I wanted to be...
As a young teenager I thought it would be awesome to become a scientist, and
tear the mask off the universe and possibly invent something cool or interesting.
That dream died when I found out that my arithmetic skills are sub-par. and it
would be on the bases of sheer luck (or madness) to do either of those two things. :(

But a guy can dream and dare to get lucky. :p

Well, you have invented various new alien races, and at least one language. And you do have masks... :D

I wanted more than anything to be a cowboy, riding a unicorn and eating cotton candy.

Paleontologist has always and continues to be my main career aspiration, but I've spent a lot of time thinking about doing a career in creative work, as well as philosophy.

    That's a lot to take on. o_O
Was there a particular order you wanted these to occur or was it this order you just outlined?

I always wanted to be an engineer, as soon as I knew there was such a thing. Other than that, I most wanted to be a "grown up"......how ironic.....now I want to be a kid again :)

Model, so I became a model. Then I decided I want to do ballet professionally, so I got into the Royal Ballet. Got bored, wanted to be an actor. Did just that. Now I'm getting older and I have not a single clue what I want to do, already did all the fun stuff :p
