    What genre is this style?

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by Capslock, Apr 8, 2019.

I need an author/ genre recommendation specific to the discription below. This is also how I’m shaping my book / unique genre. Also might be a mixture of existing genres. Here is what I’m trying to do.

The style is both poetic with some weird fiction, some surrealism mixed in, there will be some type of journey happening , traveling through a different world he or she came from.

It will be about 100 years ago ; only difference would be the European settlers never took over from the Natives, and the US never got developed. Technically an undeveloped 3rd world country.

That’s the style I’m trying to unfold. Question is, what authors should I look up to try to get inspiration? Also, what genre is this?

Some actual research on the pre-Columbian America's would probably be a good idea.

But yeah, Fantasy, Alt History, Or Alt History-Fantasy would be my guess.
