What "genre" would a book/plot like this fall under?

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by Susowitz, Aug 15, 2016.

The main character is summoned into a fantasy world to be used as a slave on a massive plantation owned by a tyrannical monarch.
He befriends other slaves and begins a mass escape using "social engineering".
He starts an uprising against the tyrant using magical technology.

Seconded. If you use the phrase 'fantasy world' in your blurb, it's probably fantasy ;)

Fantasy or possibly science fantasy if it involves real or plausible science. My Pride Search story would fall under science fantasy or perhaps soft sci fi just to give you an idea. So yeah, fantasy and sci fi are like 2 opposite sides of 1 spectrum.
