traditionally i like milk chocolate with something else mixed in, like nuts, puffed rice, toffee or raisins. examples of domestic brands i'd buy would be "cadbury" and "hershey's symphony." i never was a regular chocolate eater but recently noticed the anti-depressive effects of caffeine (yes, i'm slow) and so decided to eat more chocolate as an alternative to coffee. but because my health is not the best, i switched from the high-sugar milk chocolates to dark chocolates, which are noted in many studies to have positive health indications. well, today i needed a little caffeine burst but found that i was out of dark chocolate. so i looked through my baking goods and pulled out some bittersweet baking chocolate and discovered... that it's good! and i found that instead of the usual smooth texture it has a grainy texture, and this was welcome because the intense, smooth, syrupy texture of candy bar chocolate can get a little oppressive. what kind of chocolate do you like?
Two words. Lindt Truffles. A couple more words. I don't usually like plain chocolate, even milk chocolate. It usually needs to be mixed with something. I love orange sticks, crunch bars, hot chocolate, and once I had this spongy russian chocolate that was really good. I loved the texture, but I've learned that the spongy chocolate is actually their cheap stuff. It goes farther if you fill it with air bubbles.
Milk chocolate, semisweet, and dark. White "chocolate" is an abomination, and should be sued for misappropriation of the name. Nuts are a good ingredient. So are orange or raspberry flavors. Crisped rice? Ok, but not great. Caramel only if it is fluid, not chewy.
I don't have much of a sweet tooth anymore. Carrots actually make pretty good snacks if you dip it in honey and peanut butter, lol. But once in a while I indulge in chocolate truffles. I bought Lindt truffles for a gift exchange with friends once because, well, I liked them. The friend who got the gift was kind of upset and complained that it was too - err - creamy?? And she started passing it around to everyone. I'm glad we didn't have to write our names on it, but I wished I could have got the chocolates myself :/
White is not technically a chocolate. It doesn't have any cocoa in it. This thread just conjures up memories of Oompa Loompa's for some reason. I probably love Dahl more than I love chocolate. I actually love the idea of "chocolate" and what it can be, because of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, therefore, milk chocolate is my favorite.
lol seriously though I really do haye Chocolate I really despise the taste and find it sickly and not to my liking.
I'm not really a big fan on chocolates, but I guess I'd perfer white chocolate; although, all others are fine.
I love Dove's dark chocolate. Hersey's Special are good also, but only the mini ones. I'm not sure why the big ones taste so different.

AFAIK white is indeed chocolate, but it's made from cocoa butter whereas traditional chocolate is made from cocoa solids.
I used to prefer milk chocolate over dark chocolate. I love Peter's Ultra (it's a bulk chocolate found in candy-making supply places that you buy in huge blocks) which is a milk chocolate that is so high in butterfat that it practically melts if you breathe on it. Dark Chocolate is less fattening and I like Hershey's Special Dark (especially with peanut butter and a glass of milk). Can't stand Dove.
Red Tulip Easter eggs.... might be some kind of childhood sense memory thing going on, but they are the best chocolates ever, in whatever shape they take... Thank goodness they only appear once a year. Also, years ago I worked in a newsagency that carried quite a few gift lines as it was located in the centre of the city, including the most divine chocolate covered apricot logs... I miss them every day. lol
my all-time favorite [and dietary downfall!] are goobers followed closely by: hershey's milk chocolate with almonds crunch kisses [plain and almond] snickers turtles thin mints/andes m&m's
My sister lives in Switzerland, and has brought back many chocolates. I prefer Swiss chocolate to American. Toberlarone (sp?) among others.
