What kind of computer games do you play?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Pentip, May 21, 2008.

Not Nintendo, or X-box or what ever's new these days (I have my head in the clouds so much that I don't know what's new anymore). Computer (because that's all I know). So, what does everybody do with their free time on the computer?
I play the Sims 1 (is that around at anymore?), Mah Jong, and Rat Pack on Face book. I also like to play something that hasn't been around since the dark ages (quite literally, because it doesn't have graphics), called text adventures, like Zork, A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the old text based graphic games like ADOM, Dungeon Crawl, and things like that.

I have most of the old Infocom games, and have solved a significant percentage of them, including all the Zorks. I even fondly remember the granddaddy of all of them, Colossal Cave Adventure. The company I worked for back then justified its presence on the system as a test of the FORTRAN compiler. But I rarely play computer games anymore, apart from a few quick hands of Freecell. Too many other things capture my interest more readily.

I only play card and board games.
my hand to eye co-ordination is the pits.
I play from a hoyle disc I got in a cereal box years ago.
The characters talk when you have the disc in.
I know it is for kids but what the heck.
they have hearts, parchese, back gammon, go fish, and hang man.
I play hearts and parchese the most.

I haven't solved any of the Zorks... I keep meaning to, and I start a new game, forget about and do something else for a while, come back and start a new game, and start the whole escapade over again from the beginning. I think I recently downloaded the Colossal Cave Adventure. It's pretty neat.
Somehow I accidentally deleted all of the games that came with the computer, so I no-longer have Free Cell... :(

    Solitare!

Well, I used to play the Sims 2 until my computer went all spazzy and decided not to run the program. I can live without the Sims, though. It's all good. I don't play anything else...except for solitare, of course XD

I have a game called Children of the Nile I play from time to time. Very Civilization-esque.

I will admit, I'm addicted to Counter-Strike. I loved Half-Life 2 also, and Garry's Mod is fun when you're bored. There are others, but I don't think it's really necessary to give an entire list.

Ah the computer game. It may be expensive to keep playing them what with constant upgrading to play the latest, but I'll be darned if there arn't some manuvers you can pull of with a mosue and keygboard that are impossible with a analog controller!

    Halo: CE
    Unreal Tournament's 2K4 and 3
Rome: Total War and the Alexander and Barbarian Invasion expansion packs
    Medeviel II: Total War
Titan Quest, and Titan Quest: The Immortal Throne
    Marathon :)D WOOT)

I like computer games. Sometimes you just have to play something on the PC (or the Mac) to get the full experience :D

I used to be right in playing RPG's on Playstation, like Final Fantasy and the like...but I dont have the time anymore.

Since starting to write (kind of) seriously about a month ago, I've lost alot of my gaming time, it used to be about 4 - 6 hours a day.

    Unreal 2k4, Warcraft 3.

I usually get less than an hour a day in now =/

I am much more a console gamer than PC, but I still get a kick out of Dope Wars.

On the computer, I find daft little games like Bubble Shooter and Snake and stuff, just to pass the time in ICT classes. I got through phases of bumming Runescape too.

If restricted to PC - it's RTS games (Command and Conquer, Warcraft 3, Starcraft) but if the TV's open, I've begun to prefer the FPS games (Halo 3, Call of Duty 4...)

Im a huge RTS fan, I also won 2nd place in a tournament of Rise Of Nations I played as the Spanish :D

Other RTS games i play would be:
Dawn of War All of them, i have Dark Crusade, Winter Assault and Soulstorm.
Age of Empires III I also have The War Cheifs, gonna get The Asian Dynasties soon!
Command and Conquer All of them, simply too many to list, but there are about 20 games literally. Owned my computer memory.
