Not my style to put things back on the rails, but...

Have you ever considered speaking to people
who live in a nudist colony?

    And derailed again...

So well this has seemed to taken a direction
that my marriage did. Nothing says fun and
excitement like an international affair USA/Canada.
Though if we are going to off on that misadventure
of seeing people in the nude, cause ya know
people just happen to have a lot of physical
anatomy in common for the most part (unless you
happen to have a tail). :p
I think I would go on the misadventure of seeking
something a bit more exotic than the local fauna. ;)
(Variety is nice, but add some spice.)

Can I get in touch with someone without running the risk of being sent NSFW content?

Also, you forgot wings, horns, claws, heel toes... Dragons are a little different from humans.

That was not a part I had considered. Simply trying to offer a parallel version
of a society that could help in your particular dilemma. It would make sense
to find something similar and then extrapolate from it what will work for
    the one you are creating.
Besides the dragon concept could be based on
the fact that in the Medieval times, someone found a pterodactyl skeleton,
or other type of dinosaur and tried to define it the best they could. Most mythical
creatures have some bases in real things that were not understood.

What are they then, robots? Humans are animals, so even if they are humanoid of some kind, they are animals. Peace, Tex

I answered this question already, but it's a distinction between "smart" animals and "dumb" animals, and my dragons are "smart" animals, not dumb animals made smart like in The Jungle Book or even Eragon.

Nope, only mods get to close threads. May be answered for you, but others can still get insights and inspiration from the ongoing topic.

Unless they're supernatural or divine creatures, even dragons would have to be animals of some form. Yours are sentient.

I realize that. I just needed to make a distinction.

Yes, thats the point. They ARE animals as are humans. At least in a biological sense as far as I can see. PTxS
