What is sashimi? Is that Japanese? I agree red meat can be quite off putting especially if it is raw. Shellfish must be eaten fresh to prevent t from going off and making people sick.
Sashimi is thin-sliced seafood (although it is possible to use meat) served raw - and, yes, it's Japanese. ... and now I'm paranoid about the freshness of the prawns that were in my dinner. ^^;
I used to like seafood and even some fish, but I seem to have completely gone off it. I guess I'll try again at some point. My Japanese teacher made the best sushi. Interesting to watch her prepare it too.
may i ask where you live and what is your native language, tortue?... est-ce que la français c'est ta langue maternelle?
LOL! I love Pepsi Max. I don't really like coffee, so this is what gives me caffeine. It's also sweet and tasty despite having zero calories.
Hehe...I see. I drink coffee once a day andit has tobe very early otherwise I cannot drink it. There is not stimulant drinks in my house. I noticed that if I am out or having a drink say a rum and coke, then I can be guaranteed I won't be able to sleep. It is horrible so I stopped mixing spritis with fizzy stimulant drinks. I drink wine because it is better, I have it with food and I can go tosleep after that. Pepsi and coke are a nono and my kids are not allowed it because it makes so hyper it is scary.
Coffee. I eat, just not repetitive foods, I get bored with routine... So I mix and match regularly. Though if I could I would live off of sushi! That's more like a wishful thought though, coffee is the only constant in the daily living regime. Well... and water. Gotta stay hydrated!
My "staples" are bread and potato. I know the former isn't very good and the latter is carbs, which I think I heard somewhere are bad. I'm really too lazy and apathetic to go about changing it. My current diet is cheap and it keeps away that annoying thing called hunger. Besides, it's not like that's all I eat. I have lots of meat, vegetables and dairy stuff as well.
Lol (Normally I would try say something witty, but I've only had one cup of coffee today, so I shall just let my lol and wink do the job.)
Hey Cacian I normally have a really strong cup in the morning and another in the afternoon. I try not drink more than that else I don't sleep. So max like 2 strong cups a day. My friend was telling me a while back about the difference between alcoholics that drink to get drunk and what she called "functioning alcoholics". She pointed out that functioning alcoholics drank just to reach a level of normality. They can only function normally once they've had a certain level of alcohol every day. So now, inspired by that analogy, I've like self dubbed myself as a functioning caffeine addict
Oh right. I have never heard of such thing as functionint alcoholics. This suggests they have to drink to function which is usually during the day. It sounds weird to think of alcohol as a way of sobering up. I certainly have never come across this phenomena before I think too coffees a day is normal so you are doing OK. I have one a day.
I'm a vegetarian and so my staple diet consists of vegetables. Here's yesterdays breakdown: Breakfast was yogurt with strawberries, bananas, and blueberries. An egg white omelet with mushrooms, onions and green peppers. Lunch was some homemade vegetable soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Snack was a salad. Dinner was really weird. My wife had an odd craving (let's hope she's pregnant) and so I made blueberry pancakes. Oddly enough, because of the timing of this thread, I have been writing down what we had for dinner the last ten days and asked my wife to rate them in order of her preference (cause she tells me that she likes everything which isn't very helpful in planning a special meal). It appears from the list that pasta is a big staple too, but I think the last ten days have been a bit of an anomoly. Anyway, here to draw your own conclusions are the 'main' dishes, which is in parathesis because vegetarian dishes rarely have a main dish: 1. Chili Relleno 2. Palak Paneer 3. Potato Ravioli with white sauce 4. Veggie lasagna 5. Stir fry 6. Stuffed shells 7. Eggplant 8. Cheese enchiladas 9. Spaghetti 10. Cheese, broccoli and potato soup over rice
Those all sound really good yagr. I like that you're dispelling the notion that vegetarians only eat carrot sticks and lettuce.
Iwas a vegetarian once and I am somehow glad I am not anymore. It takes alot of cooking and I found it very restricting as a diet.
Not sure what my staple is but I eat alot o Bacon, peanut butter and pasta (not all together, although a bacon and peanut butter sandwhich is deliceous ) I have a super fast metabolism though so fatty foods don't really bother me
