I’ve noticed that two threads have been locked recently. Given that traffic there has ebbed off over the past several months how about loosening up on when and how people can post? I don’t recall locked threads before?
Assuming we are talking about the same threads they'll be locked because the posters concerned haven't met their 2 for 1 crit requirements - the workshop is about both give and take, and there is no room for people who want to take without giving. The workshop is like a dinner to which every member of the community brings a plate... if someone turned up with a piece of mouldy bread, ate all the puddings, threw up in the punch bowl and left early, it would not be fair to other diners to allow them to continue to participate in this manner unchecked
Incidentally there is no sign of forum traffic ebbing off - its pretty static at about 200 members per 24 hour period, where its been for a while.
To add to the above - The members in question were immediately informed—via a private conversation involving several moderators— that their 2:1 critique ratio (and /or membership requirements) hadn't been met, and that their thread was being locked. They were also told that once the requirements are met, the threads will be reopened.
Okay. Fair enough The poetry section has been slow late ... or maybe it just seems so as I’ve been far more active than usual recently. Thanks for the reply
