It's not the end of my novel, and I know that the word count isn't something to get hung up on too much, but this feels like a huge deal. Less than a year ago, I thought 30K was this daunting point to aspire to.
Congratulations!! That's a massive accomplishment, whether this is your first book or your hundredth. We all know how hard it can be to keep going at times. Well done and keep up the good work!!
Wow congratulations! I, too, have recently passed the 50k mark, and also a year ago thought 30k was daunting! Looks like this'll be a good month for us both .
Congratulations! I've only ever reached that milestone with one of my stories, and man did it feel good. Good on you for being dedicated enough to push through those early roadblocks, and I hope the rest of the story comes easily to you.
Fantastic news - and it is a big deal, whether it's 50k, or even 30k. It aint the quantity, it's the effort to get there. When I tell my kids how much I've written they look at me as though I've climbed a mountain. And in some respects, it can feel like that. Here's hoping the next 30k or 50k goes just as well! Best of luck
Being just over halfway at 50K seems just about optimal to me! Sounds like you might have stumbled on the knack of using just the right amount of verbosity.
Congratulations! 50k is definitely worth celebrating and yes, when you're at 30k you wonder how it took so long to get there.
Thanks! My current next goal is to pass 60,000 by next weekend. I'm about to type up a scene I started writing in my notebook that will kick up the word count a bit. Then I'd like to hit 70,000+ by the end of the month. I'm in the midst of a job search in a brand new competitive city, so making this kind of progress in my novel is a way to control my success in a way that's 100% in my own hands. I am busy with other stuff too, like meeting new friends/girlfriends and other things, so sometimes the writing is slow, but I'm getting there.
