    Animated Fantasy Sitcom

Discussion in 'Fantasy' started by Bolu Kai, Sep 3, 2017.

I have been working with a small ragtag group of guys on an animated sitcom that will take place within the realm of fantasy. We don't have high expectations that it will be the next Family Guy, South Park, or Simpsons. Moreover, we are just having fun with it. We are still in the pre-production phase and are tossing basic ideas around in terms of characters, setting, themes, plot, and so on.

As our potential audience, what would you enjoy watching in an animated [fantasy] sitcom?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE! :fight:

LMAO. Yeah, we totally want to parody stuff (e.g. films, video games, fantasy tropes, etc). I bet chainmail bras don't offer much support for women, or men if they prefer wearing them.

A "Most Awkward Dungeon Runs" segment would be pretty great. Brings me back to my days playing Pathfinder and my exploits as a chaotic evil Halfling cleric that rode a warhound into battle. That was such a great group

A non-evil, non-savage orc as one of the protagonists :)

EDIT: on a more in-depth note, one of my favorite things to see in fiction is a story that takes place in a certain setting, but which borrows tropes from different settings.

Star Wars, for example, did a famously good job of using fantasy tropes in a sci-fi setting. Might you be interested in doing something like that?

I see what you mean. Definitely a possibility, and definitely an interesting way of looking at stories! I am going to run all the input I get from the comments with my team members and we will see what happens. Thanks!
