Word Search: Elaborate & Attractive Word Choice

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by SuperMark, Jul 20, 2014.

Folks I'm looking for a phrase or idiom that conveys the above. My brain went to 'waxing the lyrical' which isn't the same thing. What I'm trying to describe is Daniel Coyle's lovely opening to The Talent Code...Everest-size, ram-shackle, titanically, Chicken-Wire Harvards..
My task as part of a Coursera course is to provide a critique of his writing.

We're immediately grabbed by his salient colourful word choice. Blah blah blah.???

Maybe go for a Nabokov-ish alliteration - velvety verbose or something.
