    Writing about crimes in memoir?

Discussion in 'Non-Fiction' started by Hublocker, May 14, 2019.

Do you think a publisher would object to the mention of some illegal acts in a memoir of a rustic homesteading life in the bush over 40 years ago, say shooting game animals out of season to feed a family?

I encourage you to read tens and tens of memoirs. I suppose you get your answer by that way.

You can start with Hunter S. Thompson, Robert Sabbag, Kari Hotakainen (Kimi), Vincent Teresa, R&R memoirs, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Emmanuelle Arsan, Gunter Wallraf...

Know the statute of limitations for the crime you are considering confessing to.
