    Writing Conventions/Workshops

Discussion in 'Marketing' started by CadillacXLR8r, Nov 4, 2011.

I was wondering if anybody knew of any writing conventions or writing workshops near the Chicagoland area in Illinois. I met with the author of a book called 'Daughter of Smoke & Bone' and she said that those types of things are not just good for learning, but also good for networking and such. If you know of any that you have found to be helpful or something I would love to know about them. Thank you so much!

I was just wondering if anybody on here had gone to any that they had thought was successful. I have googled, but google doesn't tell you if they are affective or not.

googling can turn up feedback on them, if you google creatively enough...

check out workshops on preditors & editors, for warnings and recommendations...

He wasn't asking about googling it, he was asking people about their own personal experiences with conventions and such.

I myself haven't been to any, but I do plan on attending some in the near future. I'll let you know anything that I find interesting.

To be fair, he was asking if there was any in his area. Which he could easily have Googled; that was her point. But yes, the second part of the question was asking for personal opinions. Which she also pointed out are on Google as well.

Personally, I have yet to go to one of these. But I have heard nothing but good things.
