To change or not change the spelling of my protagonist's name

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by mom42terrificgirls, Oct 8, 2014.

My protagonist's name is Karla, named after Hurricane Carla, with the first letter changed. Today I decided to change her name to Carla with a "C" because I don't think people back in the '60s played around with names that much. Do you agree or disagree?

I don't think it matters. The 'playing around with names' thing goes back a lot further than the '60s.

Do you mean the 60s where Frank Zappa named his sons Moon Unit and Dweezil?

    Edited to Add:
Here's a list of the most popular names of the 1960's. Karla is number 195 but that's still 17,713 babies.
