Hi, my names Krystal. Aspiring Author like everyone else here. Avid reader. Obsessive computer person even though i have no talent whatsoever with them. Currently reading Eragon.
Oh yes you guessed right. Maybe it was Eragon that gave it away. haha. I specifically write about Werewolves. I love them. Twilight ruined Vampires for me.
Twilight sucks. I'm a feminist type and I hate how Bella is dependent on Edward. Werewolves are way cooler anyway haha. Have you read the werecat series? I write mainly horror/dystopia. I like stories from those genres, as well as Laurie Halse Anderson's books. I'm a sophomore in college and I've been writing since I was like 4 but this is the first time I've developed an actual novel and not written myself into a brick wall. I'm on ch 3 now. Have you written a major project yet? (You say you're aspiring) What's your story about?
I totally agree. I hate mostly that Bella has no goals and no dreams. and never did. She's a bad role model for teens and pre teens alike. All she wants is to marry a vampire and the end. No I haven't. Who wrote it? I guess you could say fantasy/horror. My fantasy tends to be super violent and is in a very different mindset I guess. Darren Shans Demonata Series is my favorite Series but my favorite book is Dear Prudence by Amanda Greime(She's my teacher. ) I'm a 16 year old and I'm going to be a Senior this year. I guess I've been writing since I was about 11 or 12, but I started writing Changeling about a year ago when I was 15. I'm about 100 pages into it. about 28,000 words. And I say aspiring because I'm not even close to publishing as of now. Changeling is a Werewolf Thriller seen through the eyes of a 16, 17, 18,19, and 20 year old Werewolves. Their world is torn apart when a civil war is started between two groups of their Village hidden deep within the forests of Germany, far from Human eyes. The Revolution, wishing to change everything the 6000 year old society was built on, and the Resistance, a group wishing to stay the same. Both are fighting in the New Moon, a time where most Werewolf stories skip out of. It takes readers through magic and violence, love and childbirth. All that good stuff. (I'm obviously practicing what it will look like on the back of the book. lol) What is yours about?
Hello Krystal, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Review Room before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
