Yay! My writer's group anthology is out

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by chicagoliz, Nov 7, 2013.

My local writer's group published an anthology of short stories and it is now available on kindle, as well as in paperback. I'm not allowed to post a link, but if you go to amazon and search for Unclaimed Baggage: Voices it will come right up.

Some of you might remember I was complaining a while back, because my story was originally deemed erotica, but it is SO NOT erotica. It is a tad on the racier side, so don't read it if erections bother you. (But if you're looking for erotica, this will disappoint.)

My story's called The Power of Love. We had a launch party for it a couple of weeks ago and sold out of all the paperback copies we had. It was fun to sign the book. If you don't have a local writer's group, I highly recommend you seek one out. It is so nice to hang with writers in person. (Of course, I enjoy hanging out with them online, too.)

Congratulations @chicagoliz. I'll order it from my tablet tonight and post a review after I've read it.

I thought you were allowed to put links in your sig? Anyway, this is great! It does come right up. :D For 99 cents, sold! (As soon as my Kindle recharges.)

Yeah, I think you can, although I wanted to make a grand announcement. I'm not sure what you can link, though -- I think you can link to your own personal blog or website, etc., but I don't know about a link to amazon. Maybe there isn't a distinction. Apparently, I can't make a post with a link, but I can announce. So, here it is.

This is super awesome, Liz! :D It's great to know that there is success, and not just for some random person we've never heard of, but from someone with whom we talk and participate, whom we know.

Not to use this as a platform for other means, but how I wish we had voted for an area of the forum where members in good standing could post and link their successes. I'm encouraged by real success stories. I want to see them happen for people I know.

I think senior members should be able to boast their success by posting a link to their book

Many many congrats Liz - I'm delighted for you!

    Thanks, everyone!

I do think it would be nice to be able to post successes, like publication in a short story mag. I'd be interested to see any fellow WF members' stories that were published somewhere, and a link would make it easier.

Congrats, Liz! And congrats to the rest of the your group as well. I think you should be allowed to post a link. But that's just me.

Yes, I also think a link from active members who contribute to the community would be nice, so that we could support each other's efforts more easily. On the forums where I am a moderator, there is a subforum for that purpose, and each post that someone makes there goes into moderation to be approved before it shows up, so that you can't get a bunch of people just coming in and spamming the forum when they have no intention of being part of the community.

That was great, Liz! I got a kick out of your story. Fun character, original, nice ending. I won't say more so as not to spoil it for others.

    Really good job. :D
